Job Summary: Senior Accountant Bahrain/Kuwait
The senior accountants prepare financial reports, perform research and
analysis, maintain the general ledger, perform account reconciliations, assist
with audit preparations, and carry out other accounting duties as may be
required. The Senior accountant supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day
activities in respect of the group policy and as per the local regulations. He
is the financial local referent by developing and deploying the internal
software systems (DEAL) for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting
information. He will work closely with the Country director. He or She reports
to the Financial Director ME.
The Senior accountant will plan and direct the financial activities for Kuwait
& Bahrain finance department.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Manages the finance staff who are responsible to entry and maintain the books
of their respective entities, do the financial reporting, billing,
collections, payments.
Liaise directly with Auditors and Tax advisor under the supervision of the
Regional Tax Manager

Job description

• Collaborating with the project manager to develop a detailed, cost-effective budget for the project.


• Performing accounting duties throughout the project, such as preparing invoices, estimating cash-flow, and signing off on purchase orders.


• Analyzing all transactions and working unforeseen costs into the budget.


• Keeping a record of all project finances for internal/external auditing and tax purposes.


• Preparing cost analyses by interpreting projects' financial data and information.


• Reporting any financial risks and budgetary discrepancies to management for review.


• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.


• Keeping abreast with both the engineering consultancy and accounting industry.


• Handle accounts up to finalization & prepare Profit and Loss account & Balance Sheet, cash-flow, along with Auditor review requirement till attaining The Audit FS.


• Direct contact with bank. Prepare Bank reconciliation.


• Examine the documents in relation to AR cycle, provide supporting documents and accounts distribution to ensure accurate and efficient recording on a monthly basis


• Preparing Quarterly VAT reconciliation, Submitting and payment.


• Liaising with auditors to ensure annual monitoring is carried out.


• Review the existing procedures to add value and improve the internal control process.


• Sort, manage and act on all incoming mail timely including responding to all internal inquiries.


• Preparing payroll along with HR team, Reviewing, and Submitting to Bank.


• Manage Time sheets across the company for accurate project costing.

Profile

• A minimum of ‎7 years' experience in private or public accounting.


• Excellent knowledge of construction cost accounting and related financial procedures.


• Working knowledge of the construction or engineering consultancy industry.


• Solid analytical and mathematical skills.


• Meticulous attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.


• Good communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
