Project context
The project aims to enhance rural incomes of selected communities in Sohag
with the focus on the loofah cluster and surrounding economic activities.
Project interventions are designed to upgrade the loofah value chain in the
target localities in Sohag and empower the local community to utilize
surrounding business opportunities. The project is based on a comprehensive
methodology building on previous experiences and on a recent rapid market
assessment with key actors and experts in the Loofah value chain in Sohag.
Additionally, with realizing a persistent need for rural communities and their
economic activities to be integrated into the digital economy (and especially
after the outbreak of Covid-19 virus stressing on the benefits of ICT tools),
the project aims to promote a digital community that can cope with the
national and global digital transformation that has been taking place in
recent years; building project activities on digitally empowering approaches
is at the core of the project activities.
Main Duties :
Under the overall direction of the Project Manager and Senior Program
Executive Field coordinator will report directly to the Project Manager and
work in close collaboration with the other members of the project team and
consultants, He/she is expected to work directly with farmers, horticulture
businesses and community leaders to help these groups to make better decisions
to increase their production and relay information and best practices to them.
The field coordinator will be stationed in Sohag Governorate. The major duties
and deliverables expected are detailed in the below table.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
* Education: University degree in agriculture or related field, with specialization in Horticulture production.
* Experiences: A minimum of 4 year of hand-on experience in Youth Empowerment, agricultural development projects and/or extension services; working experience with small farm holders in Upper Egypt; awareness of poverty reduction practices.
Requirements for the position:
* Ready to be stationed in Sohag governorate and travel daily in rural areas.
* possess cultural awareness and gender sensitivity.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills to stimulate pro-activeness in beneficiaries.
* Able to manage time and organize tasks effectively.
* Team player.
* Computer literate.
Languages: Mother-tongue Arabic and working knowledge of English and
asset.
