Job Summary:

The Department of Architecture invites applications for a Lab Assistant
position in Architecture and Interior Design Programs to begin in August ‎2023.
Candidates for the position are expected to have a Bachelor degree (or Master)
in Architecture or Interior Design and demonstrate awareness of current
technology, equipment trends and software (including lighting design) for
architecture and interior design labs and studios, and possess excellent hand
sketching skills. The successful candidate will be expected to facilitate the
operation of the department labs, equipment and software, and professionally
utilize laboratory computer software.

Lab Assistant-Architecture Department
The Department of Architecture invites applications for a Lab Assistant
position in Architecture and Interior Design Programs to begin in August ‎2023.
Candidates for the position are expected to have a Bachelor degree (or Master)
in Architecture or Interior Design and demonstrate awareness of current
technology, equipment trends and software (including lighting design) for
architecture and interior design labs and studios, and possess excellent hand
sketching skills. The successful candidate will be expected to facilitate the
operation of the department labs, equipment and software, and professionally
utilize laboratory computer software.
The application package should include a detailed resume, a detailed
description of learning/training/lab assistance experience and a cover letter.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
* Preparation and maintenance of the labs, design studios, equipment and software of the department
* Assistance during labs and studios and with student projects in architecture and interior design
* Provision of technical assistance to the students online and on campus
* Participation in departmental, school, and university committees and activities
* Collaboration with faculty in developing advanced methods for design projects visualization
* Other projects and tasks assigned by the department chair.
Required Qualifications:
* Candidate must hold a Bachelor degree in Architecture or Interior Design
* Skills in DIALux (or equivalent), SketchUp, Photoshop, Illustrator, Revit, AutoCAD, Dynamo, 3DMax
* Excellent hand sketching skills
* Effective communication skills in English
* Interest and experience in working effectively with a diverse student population
* Ability and willingness to work collaboratively with faculty from architecture and interior design
