if talabat didn't pop into your mind first! Since delivering our first order
in Kuwait in ‎2004, we've grown quite a lot over the past ‎17 years.
Today, we deliver hundreds of millions of food orders, grocery items and other
products per year, to our customers in nine countries throughout the region
with more than ‎3,000+ employees! Our food delivery business works with over
‎27,000 brands and almost ‎50,000 branches, while our q-commerce concept,
talabat mart, now delivers groceries to customers in Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan,
Kuwait, Oman Qatar, and the UAE in ‎30 minutes or less!

we operate. Our #techforgood program allows our customers a safe and
convenient way to contribute to important causes in their community through
donating to local and international charities directly on talabat with a focus
on food insecurity in the region. Since its inception in ‎2020, we have
facilitated the donation of well over ‎1 million meals to those in need, as
well as donated over $‎1.5 million to charity with the help of our partners and

We believe that the assumption behind the "Speed vs Quality" mindset is flawed

Co-creating together with others through Pair and Mob programming helps us
deliver more value sooner and find joy in our work by seeking productive human
connections with others. Our test engineers enable the teams to build on their
testing expertise and take ownership of all quality aspects end to end,
shortening the feedback loop and allowing us to shift detection of issues to
the left. We aim not to manage bugs, but to prevent and resolve them early
rather than letting them persist in the system. We believe that humans are
creative and excel at finding the important areas that need attention, but
machines are better at repetitive and monotonous execution of testing tasks,
which is why we heavily invest in automation of those efforts.
Role Summary
We are looking for a thought leader in the quality space who is interested in
solving the challenge of allowing us to move faster on all platforms and
building a quality culture at talabat.
Focusing on increasing deployment frequency while reducing the change failure
rate, the challenge is not only managing a QA team, but also knowing the ins
and outs of mobile test automation and working with the wider tech
organization to set the right focus areas alongside our Chapter Leads to get
closer to our goal of moving fast while remaining stable.
While our backend and web already practice CD, over time mobile should follow
suit and ensure continuous delivery of incremental changes as stable
artifacts.

You will manage our QA team directly, work closely with our automation team
and lead the Quality Culture workstream in collaboration with the tech
leadership team including our Chapter Leads.

Responsibilities:
* People Manager for the Test Engineers
* Leading the Central QA team
* Build strategy to spread awareness across the org that quality is everyone's responsibility
* Build mindset towards automation in the QA team and in the entire engineering organization
* Maintain and optimize a unified regression test suite based on risk assessment
* Drive the automation of the regression suite
* Enable our QA team to contribute to automated tests cases
* Guide and train teams to handle testing of their products independently from test engineers
* Encourage QA and developers to pair/mob as needed
* Triage production issues and support teams in prevention of them
* Drive the organization towards issue prevention instead of managing them.
