The Job Opportunity
Serco is looking to hire a Plant Watchkeeper for one of its contracts in
Dubai, MELABS. The key purpose of this role is to oversee and ensure
continuous smooth operation, production/treatment of Reverse Osmosis (RO) and
Sewage Treatment Plants (STP) with optimum quality. The incumbent will also be
responsible for inspecting the treatment plant systems and maintain the Log
records to ensure effective operations.

Key accountabilities
* Maintain and operate the filtering and chemical treatment processes.
* Inspect, service the components of the RO & STP including water intakes, pipes, water storage tanks, chemical treatment equipment controls, circulation pumps, Dosing pumps and valves.
* Ensure an adequate supply of water for human consumption and firefighting activities.
* Complete the preventative maintenance within timeframe.
* Assist in monitoring of daily water consumption, QA and Base Ops flushing activity.
* Carry out maintenance and repair activities as directed by line manager and adhere to Risk Assessments and Standard Operating Procedures.
* Conform to all necessary internal and/or external approvals before, during and after maintenance and repair works including Permit to Work and Lockout /Tag Out procedures.
* Maintain up to date knowledge through technical training provided in-house for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of all systems.
* Ensure all assets and plant structure are in good repair and painted to promote the aesthetic of the areas and promote the professionalism of the company.
What we are looking for in our candidates:
* CAFM knowledge and computer functions on a keyboard, produce materials on a PC and operate basic office equipment.
* Should be able to input, analyses and output monthly reports and update in CAFM.
* Proficient and able to demonstrate knowledge of mechanical planned maintenance and repair services.
Specific requirements
* Knowledge in safe use of hand tools, test instruments, access and lifting equipment.
* Technical and safety awareness with a clear understanding of safety, permit to works processes, procedures.
* Proficient and able to demonstrate a complete understanding of Plant watch keeping throughout.
* Technically competent with a clear technical understanding of plant operations.
