We are looking for a Research Analyst - Fixed Income to join our Fixed Income
team in Dubai. This position will support the implementation of our investment
process through in-depth research of issuers, sovereign and corporate, active
in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Global Sukuk markets.
This position will report directly to the Chief Investment Officer based in
Dubai.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of this position?
* Conduct extensive independent research, issuing recommendations, generating trading ideas, publishing reports, and presenting them to the Fixed Income Team
* Participate and contribute to regular asset allocation and portfolio optimization meetings to ensure the research produced is incorporated into our portfolios with the appropriate position size
* Ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial models
* Maintain a working database of reports and liaise with external research providers to ensure the integrity of supplied data
* Ad hoc tasks including client queries and the update of presentations.
* Managing external communication as well as active internal communication on regional issues with various investment teams across the firm
* Key Performance Indicators (Performance of funds and mandates; Number of credit reports produced quarterly; Model portfolio recommendations quarterly; ESG related engagements quarterly)
What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be
successful?
* Bachelor's degree, preferably in a finance related discipline
* CFA Charter holder or relevant postgraduate qualification
* Minimum ‎5 years of relevant experience in financial services, preferably with a background in fixed income markets
* Strong knowledge of and rigorous analysis of sovereign, corporate and banking sectors
* Strong interest in market dynamics and industry trends
* Understanding of quantitative and qualitative research concepts and tools. Specifically, bond math and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
* Communicates well with people at all levels
* High level of intelligence and business acumen; intellectually grounded
* Committed to learning and sharing insights with team
* Entrepreneurial spirit
* High level of personal integrity
* Ability to work with great accuracy under pressure
* Knowledge of Arabic is a plus
