Role Purpose


This role is ultimately responsible for working up analysis on commercial
contracts/offers to ensure that they are viable and profitable from a business
perspective. The post holder will support commercial strategy implementation
through commercial planning, demand forecasting, data mining and reporting,
and the overall financial performance of the Region, supporting analysis and
advice to deliver the business growth targets. This work is essential in
creating the most efficient production and marketing strategies.

Main Accountabilities:
Commercial Planning



  • Carries out routine monitoring and standard reporting on commercial data involving sales, profitability and/or co-funding and sponsorship opportunities using an agreed set of corporate processes, techniques and report templates.

  • Supports development of the regional BD & Sales Strategy cross product/segment

  • Undertakes regular quality checks, provides feedback and implements plans and targets for products/services relative to Market need with RCDM as primary focus is business pursuit.

  • Supports Drawing up commercial feasibility of proposals linking with Finance on cost modelling


Market & Customer Intelligence



  • Uses a range of standard processes and techniques to carry out routine research and analysis of actual or potential customer/audience trends - e.g. customer segmentation, demographic profiling, competitor tracking and measurement of market share.

  • Pulls together market intelligence to identify opportunities and works to prioritise lead generation

  • Researches capacity fill and requirements to increase demand


Winning Business



  • Under direction from RCDM, supports the development of high quality bids, tenders and proposals by preparing or collating written content and financial data according to agreed processes and deadlines.

  • Analyses clients' needs and tailors value propositions with expert support where needed

  • Supports to develop tangible income generating plans and opportunity shortlists based on market intelligence and Marketing Insights/Analytics.

  • Assesses commercial feasibility and Contract governance up to certain level including contract approval escalation with input from Finance on Cost modelling

  • reviews proposals and large scale tenders drawing from RCDM


Account & Stakeholder Management



  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date records and data for the Region in order to support effective and coordinated account management.

  • Conducts research, using a range of information channels, into the business activities, challenges and key personnel in target customer, partner or sponsor organisations to support senior colleagues in developing new business and cultural relations opportunities.

  • Business Pursuit, networking and key account relationships plan and delivery agreed with CD/BC colleagues on shared opportunities

  • Identifies and shares examples of process/procedural best practice with colleagues in the region to drive continuous improvement in key account management and stakeholders.


Analysis & Reporting



  • Undertakes Commercial and demand forecasting to the Region

  • Provides B2B/Sales forecast, actively manages pipeline and drives demand in year and for the following year.

  • Monitor & report on pipeline plan and performance


Leadership & Management



  • Plans and prioritises regional operational activities and supports team development towards effective business development.

  • Reports on costs, expenditures, and sales to ensure high quality service delivery is maintained at all times

  • Shares intelligence and ideas with RCDM

  • Provides support to one and/or more cluster geography in the region to be allocated by the RCDM.

About You (essential requirements for the role):



  • University degree in Business/Statistics or equivalent experience

  • Commercial Analysis skills - Excel super user and Power BI

  • Data Analysis Skills

  • Experience of conducting commercial/contract analysis

  • Experience of reviewing B2B and B2B2C contract standards/templates governance

  • Commercial and business reporting

  • Reviewing bids, Costing and pricing for large scale opportunities

  • Building and maintaining stakeholder relationships - internal

  • High level of proficiency in English language


Desirable requirements:
* ‎2 to ‎3 years of commercial data analysis experience
