Purpose
The Security Manager forms part of the Residential team who collectively make
key strategic and operational decisions for the security operations of the
Residence. The Security Manager will also manage all areas to the security and
health & safety of the owners and the residence property.


General Responsibilities
* Organizes and manages the department in accordance with company philosophy and policies, maximizing efficiency and productivity and achieving established goals; promotes harmony between departments.
* Demonstrates standards awareness, by setting example for standards execution, standards testing and implementing action plans to achieve established product and service goals.
* Builds a motivated and skilled team, leads by example and instills a culture of continuous learning and improvement among employees.
* Actively plans and manages the career development of every employee through effective coaching, training and by instilling company values; is concerned for employees' continuous development and personal growth.
* Displays warmth, care and genuine enthusiasm when dealing with guests and internal customers; lives the Golden Rule.
* Ensures employees adhere to the code of conduct and grooming & hygiene standards as specified in the employee handbook.
* Provides regular and fair performance feedback to employees, formally and informally as appropriate.

* Maintains a clean and orderly work area and ensures tools & equipment are well maintained and in sufficient supply.

Departmental Responsibilities
* To manage the day-to-day security force of the property to ensure the safety and security of guests, personnel and property.
* To maintain Health & Safety equipment in good condition and fully operationally as per local UAE law.
* To implement all policies and procedures regarding security and safety design and implement preventive safety and security programs.
* To manage all areas of security for the residence including, but not limited to, disorderly conduct, thefts, suicides, bomb threats, employee or guest accidents, fire or safety hazards, robberies, terrorist activities, civil disturbance, power or elevator failures, medical assistance and natural disasters.
* To prevent situations that could jeopardize the reputation of the property.
* To investigate crimes committed against the residence, guests, and employees.
* To document all incidents occurring in the residence in connection with crime, subversions, potential liabilities and insurance requirements.
* To conduct Fire and Safety and Health & Safety Risk Assessment processes in all areas of the Residence and ensure related department activity and training is being undertaken on schedule.
* To take responsibility for all training related to the residence's emergency procedures, and conduct legislated Fire Training and Fire Drills.
* To educate Security employees and all employees of the Residence in Health & Safety topics based on specific current Health & Safety regulations.
* To use and manage extensive technology related to guest security, employee security and camera systems, controlling keys, lock system and alarm systems.
* To keep abreast of developments within the residence and community as they relate to security and Health & Safety as well as act as a liaison with local law-enforcement agencies.
* To manage both administrative and technical areas of the role with high level of accuracy and skill while maintaining personal skills in life safety, Health & Safety, property protection situations, experienced CPR, first aid, fire-fighting, crowd control, personal protection skills and security of specialized events.
* To personally meet and interact with customers and law enforcement officers to develop and nurture repeat business, respond to all written and verbal guest comments giving feedback through the recovery system and follow up on all guest service issues.
* Conducts Performance Evaluations and disciplines staff when needed.
* Ensures communications and follow-up on any problems, owners' requests or special requirements.
* Assures the financial goals of the department are being met including but not limited to monitoring labour expenses, contract services, guest supplies, equipment supplies and other divisional expenses within budget parameters.
* Assures that all security or Health & Safety equipment is properly maintained in a timely manner.
* To provide leadership, direction and support to the employees of Security team to develop a highly motivated team who can deliver high standards of service in all areas.
* To be responsible for ensuring that all residence employees are kept informed of changes or additions to information related to their Security, Safety, Health & Employee Welfare.
* To develop and constantly review standard and emergency operating procedures in relation to Security and Safety and ensure that risk assessments are up to date.
* To co-ordinate the selection, purchase, storage, inventory, maintenance and usage of all related equipment.
* To assist each manager in the residence in giving the necessary training to their employees in Security & Health & Safety matters and to assist them in it.
* To be able to execute all tasks of a security officer.
* To perform other tasks or projects as assigned by the Director of Residences and Senior Director of Security.


Special Requirements
* Minimum of ‎5 years of relevant working experience in ‎5-star luxury hotels and resort.
* Computer literate, with high competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as a minimum).
* Strong leadership skills and proven experience in staff development.
* Arabic Speaker is a plus.
* Proven aptitude in customer service.
