Position Purpose

The Engineering Manager works within the e-Commerce department and ensure
transparent communication between Sephora and the development agency, ensuring
alignment in regular meetings. They monitor project execution, promptly
address deviations, and proactively manage timelines. The Engineering manager
will be the SPOC of Sephora with the tech teams, and he should permanently
align with the Digital Project Manager as well as the Product Manager.

Key Accountabilities**
* Develop and implement the overall digital technology strategy and roadmap for the ecommerce platform, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
* Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of the Digital platform, ensuring scalability, performance, and security.
* Deliver the right scalable, performant architecture designs and solutions.
* Ensuring the optimal application of engineering resources to meet product development and consumer requirements and ensuring the implementation of agile processes that support site/software development processes.
* Overseeing the strategic deployment of the departmental resources leading to optimal resource allocation and the smooth and successful development of sites/software.
* Supervising every phase of the project from start to completion.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimization, automation.
* Develop and manage the Digital tech budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and adherence to financial targets.
* Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure optimal performance, uptime, and customer satisfaction of the e-commerce platform.
* Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in the Digital space, providing recommendations for innovation, process improvement, and competitive advantage.

Stakeholders ' management
Internal
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business stakeholders, marketing, operations, and finance, to identify IT requirements, prioritize projects, and drive successful delivery of Digital initiatives.
* Mentoring and coaching colleagues within your team using your expertise as an engineer.
* Responsible for managing and delivering, working closely with Product team to do this.
* Work closely with the user experience department in designing, developing, and deploying new features that will lead to increased consumer satisfaction.
* Collaborate with the IT security team to implement and maintain robust security measures and ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations.

External
* Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service agreements related to Digital IT systems and services.

Skills, Experience and Personality

Technical Proficiency:**
* Minimum ‎10 years of experience with ‎5 years in a similar role
* Experience in managing a composable commerce architecture including managing infrastructure
* Familiarity with modern technologies and frameworks relevant to headless architectures
* Ability to grasp technical concepts and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
* Experience in managing development teams
* Proficiency with SFCC as well as a previous development experience will be a plus

Project Management Expertise:
* Proven experience in project management, particularly in overseeing complex and dynamic projects.
* Strong organizational skills to manage timelines, resources, and deliverables effectively.

Communication Skills:
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate clear and transparent communication between Sephora and the development agency.

Collaboration and Teamwork:
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, both within Sephora and with external development agencies.

Quality Assurance and Testing:
* Understanding of quality assurance processes and experience in overseeing testing phases.
* Ability to ensure that the implemented composable commerce solution meets quality standards and aligns with Sephora's requirements.

Vendor Management:
* Experience in managing relationships with external vendors, such as development agencies.
* Ability to negotiate and ensure that the development agency delivers according to the agreed-upon terms.
