About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Manager, Engineering
to join our team at our pre-opening luxury hotel. As an Assistant Manager,
Engineering, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of
all engineering functions within the hotel.

You will work closely with the Manager, Engineering and provide support in
managing the engineering department, supervising colleagues, and maintaining
the hotel's physical assets.

Role Responsibilities:
* Assist the Manager, Engineering in overseeing the daily operations of the engineering department, ensuring the highest standards of maintenance, repair, and safety protocols are followed.
* Supervise a team of engineers, technicians, and other support staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
* Coordinate with other departments, such as Housekeeping, Front Office, and Food and Beverage, to ensure efficient resolution of maintenance issues and timely completion of guest requests.
* Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and ensure the hotel's equipment and facilities are operating at optimal levels.
* Conduct regular inspections of all hotel areas, identifying and addressing maintenance needs, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Manage the department's budget, control expenses, and participate in the procurement of engineering supplies and equipment.
* Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technology advancements, and best practices in hotel engineering management.
* Assist in preparing reports, analyzing data, and making recommendations for improvements in efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability.
* Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, open communication, and continuous learning among the engineering team.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is preferred.
* Proven experience in hotel engineering or a similar role, preferably within the luxury hotel sector.
* Strong knowledge of building systems, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and fire safety codes and regulations.
* Experience in managing a team and the ability to motivate, train, and develop employees.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Strong organizational and time management skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
* Proficient in computer systems and engineering-related software.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required in a pre-opening environment.
