Purpose Statement:
The Logistics and Transportation Manager is responsible for managing
transportation activities through out different GEM markets supporting
regional cost and service levels. This role will identify new opportunities in
the end-to-end value stream which will drive world-class supply chain
performance. The position will play a key role in the development and
execution of the overall GEM Logistics Strategy, Operations & Trade
Compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Transportation Responsibilities:
* Develop and manage end to end logistics configuration to support the end to supply chain goals and objectives.
* Partner with supply chain planning leaders to optimize overall performance (i.e. physical flow, master data, planned delivery time as required).
* Direct responsibility in negotiating, awarding, administering, reviewing and setting service agreements with carriers, customs broker and transportation suppliers regionally.
* Develop and sustain vendor relationships and hold transportation providers accountable per corporate contracts and regional regulations.
* Consistently monitor Global Inbound shipping lanes to support on identifying opportunities for improvement.
* Hold vendors accountable to Boston Scientific standards of care when handling/delivering shipments. Issue Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) to carriers which have or cause a conformance.
* Expedites difficult shipping situations (e.g., dangerous goods, new product introductions, customs clearance, etc.) to ensure timely delivery.
* Creates and manages regional financial budgets.
* Direct responsibility for the freight services department to ensure Boston Scientific is compliant to all external regulations (i.e. Quality, ‎404/SOX).
* Partner with commercial leadership to ensure addressing escalations, continuously monitor performance and optimize total SG&A.

Compliance Responsibilities:
* Assists in negotiating, awarding, administering, and reviewing service agreements with Trade Services suppliers and customs brokers with management input.
* Provides assistance and consults with related stakeholders to ensure compliant and accurate Customs declarations for both import and export activities within the region.
* Works with carriers, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies to identify and resolve Import compliance issues.
* Assist with audits Brokers by conducting periodic reviews of brokers' service in order to ensure quality service and to resolve any problems (e.g., broker visit, compliance, timely clearance)
* Maintains compliance with regional and foreign regulations governing the shipment, receipt, and documentation of imported/exported products
* Ensure that international business transactions are executed in compliance with all applicable customs and governmental regulations and procedures.

Experience, skills & proficiencies required:
* Minimum ‎8 years into leading multi modal our sourced Transportation providers.
* Hands on Experience of Trade and Customs requirements in Emerging Markets.
* Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office is required.
* Demonstrated evidence of driving positive customer experiences through freight / logistics improvements initiatives / projects.
* Demonstrated experience of managing complex Air / Sea / Land freight tenders, cost improvements and daily operatioins.
* Excellent collaborator; strong on partnering, partner management and effective interpersonal skills at all levels within a company
* Ensures quality and safety remain a priority.
