ABOUT THE BRAND
Our name, Shangri-La, was inspired by James Hilton's legendary novel "Lost
Horizon". Hilton's book was about a tranquil haven in the mountains of the
Himalayas, called Shangri-La, which cast a spell on all who resided there.
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts began in 1971 with our first luxury hotel in
Singapore. Today, the group comprises over 100 hotels and resorts in key
cities in the Asia Pacific, North America, Europe, and the Middle East. Based
in Hong Kong, we are expanding globally with developments underway throughout
Asia, Australia, and the Middle East.
ABOUT THE PROPERTY
Shangri-La Hotel, Jeddah will be housed in a prominent development with a
235-room hotel and serviced residences in Jeddah, the second-largest city in
Saudi Arabia and the principal gateway to Mecca. Offering stunning views over
the water, the hotel will feature four restaurants, function areas totaling
2,118 square meters, luxury spa and fitness areas, a swimming pool, a
children's club, and several lounges.
DUTIES
The Banquet Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operation of the
Banquet to carry on full duties and responsibilities in line with management
guidelines and instructions. Play a major role in achieving highest guest
satisfaction levels through applying proper guidelines to service team and
constant follow up on service delivery and food quality checks. Ensure overall
operation cost is well maintained at the required level and set guidelines and
steps operationally to protect assets and related banquet inventory.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintains services standards by: Applying service standards as per
policies and procedures
Execute tasks and responsibilities as per guidelines given by the banquet
management
Adhere to orders as per reporting line
Ensure highest quality of service is produced to achieve guest satisfaction
Report immediately all concerns of service and quality to direct supervision
Attends department meetings and summarizes Performance
Highlights achievements, problems, challenges.
Models the practice and encourages staff to use the guiding principles in day-
to-day interactions.
Practices and role-models the Guiding Principles and the Core Values of
Shangri-La Hospitality
REQUIREMENT
Must be an Arabic Speaker.
Solid experience in a previous Banquet Managerial role in luxury large scale
properties.
A leader with the ability, to coach, train and develop others
Fluent in English
Strong leadership, self-motivated excellent communication skills
