MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To assist with the implementation and maintenance of a functional Infection
Prevention and Control programme at hospital level
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
* To provide leadership and management guidance on infection prevention and control matters
* To ensure risks are identified and evidenced based practice is recommended and followed as per standards to mitigate risks
* To comply with legislative, regulatory and clinical standards to ensure continuous quality improvement
* To promote a safe environment for patients, visitors and employees by developing and empowering employees and contract workers
* To manage key stakeholder relations
Requirements
REQUIERD EDUCATION
Essential :Nursing qualification (degree or diploma)
REQUIERD EXPERIENCE
Essential : 2-3 Years ' experience working in a hospital environment as a
professional healthcare practitioner
DESIRED : - One year Infection Prevention and Control related work
* Experience as an infection control practitioner /infection control nurse in an acute care facility.
REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
* Demonstrate Computer Literacy
* Fluency in English (written and verbal)
* Demonstrate an understanding of the application of relevant Infection Prevention and Control principles
* Demonstrate ability to write reports
* Demonstrate the knowledge and ability to identify risks and conduct Infection Prevention and Control Surveillance
* Demonstrate ability to do data analysis and interpretation
* Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies
* Knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and accreditation standards
* Sound knowledge of international (e.g. CDC, NHSN) and local criteria and guidelines to identify and report health care associated infections
