Assumes responsibility for the planning, organization, facilitation of Quality
Management Plan and activities within Medical and Clinical Affairs (MCA).
1. Facilitates development of strategic quality initiatives, goals and
objectives. Tracks progress and prepares status reports for MCA
Administration.
2. Prepares reports that support executive management decision-making for
improving management, clinical and education outcomes.
3. Directs and coordinates MCA Risk Management strategy and activities.
4. Coordinates and supports hospital accreditation activities within MCA.
5. Responsible for coordination of MCA quality management activities,
including development of performance improvement indicators and policies and
procedures.
6. Consults, facilitates and participates in MCA/hospital-wide performance
improvement activities (e.g. Performance Improvement projects, clinical
pathways, best practice, benchmarking).
7. Networks with other areas to identify opportunities to improve joint
issues.
8. Participates in the education and training of nursing, MCA staff in
quality management/performance improvement concepts, principles, and
methodologies. Assists in the evaluation of performance improvement class
curriculum.
9. Participates on committees, task forces and teams as requested.
Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Management, or any related
discipline is required.
Five (5) years of related experience with Master's, or seven (7) years with
Bachelor's Degree is required.
Other Requirements(Certificates)**
Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), American Society of
Quality (ASQ) certification, or international equivalent is required.
