Job Description
Job Scope:
Administers various type of anesthetics to render patient insensible to pain
during surgical procedures, manipulation or setting of fractures, deliveries
and other therapeutics and diagnostics measures.
Job Responsibilities:
* Responsible for providing anesthesia care to elective as well as emergency cases.
* Ensures implementation of the Ministry of Health regulations, the Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and the Department Policy and Guidelines.
* Follows the standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of anesthesia.
* Exhibits appropriate personal and interpersonal professional behaviors and practice medicine ethically consistent with the obligations of a physician.
* Cooperates with other members in Anesthesia Department to work in a team directed and organized by the Head of the Department.
* Considers the patient's safety as the first priority in his work.
* Includes the patient in discussions concerning appropriate diagnostic and management procedures.
* Conducts studies and research program on effectiveness and usefulness of new techniques and anesthetics.
* Observes and monitors the anesthetized patient for adverse reactions, advise physicians of conditions, and initiate remedial measures.
* Maintains records of anesthetic administered, condition of patients prior to and throughout anesthesia, pre-anesthetic and post anesthetic medication, and conditions of patients at close of operation.
* Administers treatment to patients in case of post anesthetic complications.
* Accompanies patients to recovery room or ICCU/SICU.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience
* MBBS and Master Degree in Anesthesiology
* Minimum 1 year of experience post Master Degree in relevant specialty
Job-Specific/Technical Skills
* Good communication skills.
* Knowledge of Required Organizational practices/patient safety standards.
* Command over professional code of ethics, medical bylaws.
* Knowledge of evidence based Age specific/ Population specific patient care clinical guidelines accepted by the hospital.
* Culturally competent (Kuwaiti patients' culture and beliefs).
* AHA certified Basic Life support provider.
