A well-known leading organization in Kuwait is urgently looking for a highly
qualified
Senior
Legal Counsel
to join the legal team to oversee the legal aspects of business.
The successful candidate will assist in safeguarding the company reputation by
guaranteeing that the company follows strictly law guidelines and provide
expert and professional legal advice, solutions and recommendations on legal
aspects, as well as coordinating the day to day activities of the Legal
Department, to ensure The adherence of the legal team to the department rules
and strategies to ensure the conformity of all the business operations of the
company in line with the local and international regulations, and will be
effectively responsible for minimizing the probability of exposure.
Responsibilities:

Give accurate and timely counsel in a variety of legal topics (labor law,
partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance, international
arbitration etc.).

Assist the Legal Manager in the team supervision.
-
Assist in Propose, draft and review internal policies & preventive law and
compliance policies to reduce company exposure to legal risk.

Research, evaluate and highlight different risk factors regarding business
decisions and operations.

Follow the applied effective risk management techniques.
-
Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel,
public authority etc.), creating relations of trust.
-
Draft and solidify agreements, contracts and other legal documents to ensure
the company’s full legal rights.

Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces.

Conduct work with integrity and responsibility.
-
Review company contracts and consult with external law firms in order to
obtain legal advice where necessary.

Maintain current knowledge of alterations in legislation.
Requirements and skills:
-
Proven experience as a Legal Counsel in business environment (5+ Years of
similar experience).

Additional experience as a Legal Counsel in law firm will be an advantage.

Compile experience of litigation and arbitration procedures.
-
Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures.
-
Strong knowledge of local and international legal literatures and terms.
-
Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a
corporation.

Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies.
-
High degree of professional ethics and integrity.
-
Sound judgement and ability to analyze situations and information.
-
Outstanding communication skills.
-
BA degree in Law degree from a recognized university (English section is
preferred).
