Participate in a wide range of engineering activities related to planning,
design, engineering and implementation Voice Core subscriber repository nodes
(HLR/HSS/CSDB/EIR) including network and services design, planning and
budgeting, roadmap development, business case assessment, integration and
testing of new nodes and new functionalities, inline with Vodafone Technology
Networks recommendations, local market business needs and regional priorities
and strategy.
Key accountabilities and decision ownership**
* Detailed design of the technical solutions (Low Level Design) impacting the platforms in scope.
* Responsible for the delivery of the infrastructure so that it meets the requirements of Vodafone customers, business units and operations units, including technical management of the platform vendor throughout the process.
* Provide support to the product and solution design during the feasibility phase (HLD), where the accountability for the end-to-end technical design is elsewhere (e.g. CPS, EPS, CoE)
* Track capacity of the platforms in scope and plan and trigger expansion decisions as a result.
* Work with the Core Competence Centre on the evolution and roadmap of the platform, influencing it to consider real-life use of the platform, to address its limitations, as well as to make them better suited to the needs of Vodafone in terms of cost, efficiency, reliability, scalability, ease of operation, etc.
Education:
* Degree in electrical / electronic / telecommunications, Software, Computer engineering
Experience & Skills:
* Good degree of autonomy and ability to self-start on complex deliverables in ambiguous situations
* Problem solving and process improvement skills with the ability to implement tactical and strategic solutions as appropriate
* Excellent communication skills, ability to explain, enlighten, educate and above all engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
