* Purpose of the Consultancy
The main objective of this consultation is to support the regional RCCE
emergency response to monkeypox. The incumbent will co-facilitate the Regional
Monkeypox Community Reference Group and conduct trainings on RCCE activities
for monkeypox to MOH counterparts.
* Background
Within the Programme, the Country Health Emergency Preparedness & the
International Health Regulations (‎2005) unit (CPI) oversees the monitoring and
evaluation of countries' preparedness to health and humanitarian emergencies,
the planning and country capacity building for critical capacities, and serves
Regionally as the Secretariat of the International Health Regulations (‎2005).
The CPI unit prioritizes support to the most vulnerable countries and works
incorporating an all-hazards approach at all three levels of the Organization.
CPI supports countries in developing an all-hazard Risk Profile, at national
and subnational level, that will guide and prioritize country preparedness.
CPI also supports the establishments of operational Public Health Emergency
Operation Centre (PHEOC)in countries, which serves as a hub for coordinating
the preparation for and response to public health emergencies.

  Description of duties
  Work to be performed:
  Output ‎1: S upport the regional RCCE emergency response to
  monkeypox

  
  

Deliverables
* In close coordination with the HIV/STI programme and other IMST pillars, develop a package to train peer educators and NGOs on their role in working within their MSM and other high-risk groups.
* Co-facilitate the Regional Monkeypox Community Reference Group, including supporting with meeting coordination (secretariate function), development of minutes, follow up of recommended actions, on a monthly basis during the assignment.
* Coordinate with ministries, partners and other stakeholders to implement RCCE interventions, including supporting coordination via the regional RCCE Interagency Working Group (IAWG).
* Conduct country missions to Lebanon and Morocco and other countries upon request to conduct trainings and workshops with Ministries of Health and partners on RCCE activities for monkeypox, including trainings for health workers, peer educators, community-based partners.

• Qualifications required :


• Minimum first university degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, development sciences, communications or public health.


• Experience required:


• 
  

  Minimum of ‎5 years' experience at the national and international levels, in risk communication, health promotion, emergency management, part of which working in disease outbreaks or health emergencies.

• Prior working experience with WHO, the UN, health cluster partners, recognized humanitarian organizations or other international organizations, including at country level.


• Skills / Technical skills and knowledge:


• Teamwork and Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure.

• Tact diplomacy and courtesy when working in multicultural and multidisciplinary environment


• Demonstrated knowledge and experience in operational support to response to health emergencies and events management.

  • This assignment will include travel but will be decided based on communications with countries.
    All travel arrangements will be made by WHO - WHO will not be
    responsible for tickets purchased by the Consultant without the express, prior
    authorization of WHO. While on mission under the terms of this consultancy,
    the Consultant will receive subsistence allowance .
    Visas requirements: it is the consultant 's responsibility to fulfil visa
    requirements and ask for visa support letter(s) if needed.
