Responsibilities:
* Design and implement database in accordance to end users' information needs and views
* Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required
* Ensure that database information is always available to all users in a form that suits their needs.
* Ensure that data is available only to authorized users.
* Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity
* To be prepared for any type of recovery, the DBA needs to develop a backup strategy to ensure that data is not lost in the event of an error in software, hardware, or a manual process.
* Responsible for managing the migration from release to release of the DBMS.
Qualifications:
* BS degree in a computer discipline or relevant certification
* Oracle DBA certified
* Proven working experience as a Database Administrator
* Hands-on experience with database standards and end user applications
* Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity
* Problem solving skills and ability to think algorithmically
