Red Snapper Recruitment are seeking three agency workers to undertake
Investigator roles, equivalent of a Higher Executive Officer grade, on behalf
of our central government partner.

Hybrid working model: Requirement to attend court ‎3-‎4 times a week at
potentially any Magistrate court location across the UK. All travel to court
and subsequent costs [T&S / Hotels] will be covered by expenses.

The role is paying £‎16.35 per hour PAYE or £‎21.57 per hour via an umbrella
company. If based in London, a higher rate inclusive of London Weighting will
apply.

Main duties and responsibilities
*
Court attendance [both in person or via live link] to present cases to Police,
Court and Prosecutor colleagues to support criminal prosecutions, and assist
witnesses.
*
Undertake file management and progression of plead-not-guilty trial cases, to
include determining and managing relevant witnesses required, clarification of
issues that lead to the adjournment, and any other preparation to present at a
criminal trial.

Provide explanations to the defence - either the member of the public or their
representative, concerning the process, associated implications and potential
outcomes
*
To provide feedback to the Criminal Justice Unit, officers and other relevant
stakeholders regarding evidence quality / case building to ensure continuous
improvement
*
To efficiently review all case files and where necessary make decisions to
withdraw cases that fail to meet the required standards of evidence.
*
Record all decisions on Border Force IT systems [JIRA]
*
To provide support Criminal Justice Unit Senior Management Team and wider unit

Person Specification
*
Ability to create prosecution court files, experience of giving evidence at a
Magistrates court and a sound knowledge Criminal Procedure and Investigation
Act [CPIA].
*
PIP2 or experience of working in criminal investigations
*
IT experience - they need to have good MS experience
*
Desirable: Experience of working as police Evidential Review Officer
*
Current SC vetting is an essential requirement
