Key Areas of Responsibility:
* Define priorities, design Medical strategic plans to align with country scorecard and ensure Scientific Leadership is translated and implemented
* Work cross-functionally with other departments to develop aligned strategic Therapy Areas/Brands plans for the optimal dissemination of scientific evidence by the team in pre and post product launch phases in accordance to Local Health Authority guidelines.
* Enhance Medical Organizational Effectiveness: Build and develop a Medical Department with customer focused, performance driven, cross collaborating and people centered function with robust systems and processes and the right capability in place to meet the current and future needs of NEMAG
* Support the establishment of AZ as a scientific leader, through pro-active medical inputs
* Generate medical evidence to support brand strategy in priority Therapy Areas (TAs) to meet unmet medical needs
* Provide medical expertise to shape regulatory environment to achieve rapid and high quality market access of AZ products
* Medical Governance role to ensure overall adherence to processes, policies, SOPs, Pharma Codes and local laws & regulations [include but not limit to patient safety, clinical trials, promotional activities, …etc.]
* Develop capabilities across the function
* Communicate, develop and role model AZ culture and AZ Values & Behaviors
* Develop individual and team accountability
Minimum Criteria and Competencies
* Physician/Medical Doctor/Bachelor degree from a Medical School
* Extensive experience in Medical Affairs function within a multinational pharmaceutical company
* Extensive experience in relationship and stakeholder management and cross functional collaboration
* Excellent Leadership Capabilities to lead change and transformation in Medical function with strategic thinking and leadership stance
* Extensive team management experience
* Diploma, Master Degree or PhD is a plus
* At least four years of experience as Therapy Area Head (in case of internal applicant)
* Clinical knowledge is a plus
