Music Teacher (Lower Primary) - October 2022

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Music Teacher to join our New Prime
National School located in 6th of October - Giza that will open its doors to
students in September ‎2023, however this position is effective October ‎2022.
The music teacher will follow the guidelines as set out by the education
department which includes the theory and practice of general music, singing
and playing musical instruments.
To be successful as a music teacher, you should create an enjoyable learning
environment to inspire young minds and help them grow in appreciation of
music. Ultimately, a top-notch music teacher should be skilled in playing
musical instruments, planning concerts for student participation, and creating
after school music clubs.
Job Description:
* Classroom Management
‎1. Plan and implement effective classroom management practices.
‎2. Maintain good order and discipline amongst students and safeguard their
healthand safety at all times in accordance with the school's procedures.
‎3. Encouragegood practice with regard to punctuality, behavior, completion of
homework assignments, and projects.
‎4. Prompt students to build their sense of responsibility and belonging.
* Planning & Assessing
‎1. Planning, preparing and delivering lessons to all students in the class.
‎2. Assigning work, correcting and marking work carried out by his/her
students.
‎3. Assessing, recording, and reporting on the development, progress,
attainment and behavior of the students.
‎4. Providing or contributing oral and written assessments, reports and
references relating to individual students or groups of students.
‎5. Participating in arrangements within an agreed framework for the appraisal
of students' performance.
* Teaching
‎1. Teaching according to the educational needs, abilities and achievement of
the individual students and groups of students.
‎2. Assign appropriate and challenging tasks built on prior attainment and
ensure high levels of students' interest and engagement.
‎3. Use effective teaching strategies and efficient time management.
‎4. Use variety of teaching methods and adapt instruction to students'
differences in development, learning styles, strengths and needs.
‎5. Together with the Learning Support Assistants, developing and implementing
the Individual Educational Program (IEP) of students with Individual
Educational Needs and participating in IEP and Individual Transition Plan
(ITP) meetings.
‎6. Making use of audiovisual technological devices/aides and other
adaptations during the delivery of the lessons
‎7. Use effective questioning and prompt students to elaborate their
responses. Give constructive feedback on students' errors and misconceptions.
Successful Candidate will have:
* Bachelor degree in Music or related degree
* Experience working with lower Primary stage
* Experience of leading ensembles and organizing concerts and/or productions
* Strong vocal and pianistic skills (a second instrument would be desirable but not essential)
* Strong IT skills with an appropriate knowledge of Music Technology and current educational learning platforms
