Crane Operator (Over Head Crane Operator)

JOB TITLE:


CRANE OPERATORS,
crane & refractories

Role Purpose:
To operate and monitor Cranes and process in order to support the
achievement of the production plan through the timely production of confirming
finished product or work in progress

Key Accountabilities

‎1.
To operate and maintain the Cranes in smooth running condition to meet all the
requirements of plant in operation and to fulfil the production targets

‎2.
Prepare plant, equipment and or process in order to ensure the plant and
processes are operating within set parameters

‎3.
Identify and report the troubles and emergencies to immediate supervisor and
follow up and co-ordinate the corrective action to be taken

‎4.
Carry out routine inspection, cleaning and lubrication and adjustment to avoid
break downs and troubles and maintain smooth operation of the equipment

‎5.
Carry out routine operation carry out minor repairs and report major troubles
to Senior Technician and Shift Supervisor also communicate to Maintenance
group

‎6.
Co-ordinate with Maintenance group during break downs and repairs to put back
the equipment on line and avoid unwanted production delays

‎7.
Ensure all operating, Safety , environment and quality procedures are followed
in order to ensure the highest standards of operation and to support the
achievement of continuous uninterrupted logistic supply

‎8.

Communicate clearly with the relievers transfer all the details of the
equipment condition to the reliever, hand over the Crane with all clear
information's

‎9.
Charging and Ladle Cranes operating with high skill and precision as dealing
with heavy scrap and molten metal respectively

‎10.
Provide trainings to the junior operators to the higher Cranes and develop the
operators

‎11.
Handling abnormal situations in production line, like back charging molten
metal to the furnace the most critical operation in Crane operation

‎12.
Ensure emergency and standby equipment is regularly checked run and maintained
in order to ensure it is kept in good working condition order at all the times

‎13.
Actively participating in QC Circle activities for improvement in the
equipment and work process and standards

‎14.
Communication skills with shop floor ground staff and other co-workers

quaLIFICATIONS, Experience & SKILLS

• Technical Diploma, High school graduates or ITI Certificate or equivalent certificate in Over Head Crane operation


• Experience ‎3 ~ ‎5
  years in OHT Crane operation in similar steel manufacturing industry (level-‎1
  operator experience preferred)


• Complete knowledge of lifting equipments tools and tackles


• Knowledge of Slinging and Rigging procedures


• Knowledge of OHT Crane operation, safety and work procedures


• Ability to read technical drawings (Not mandatory)


• Analytical capabilities


• Crane preventive maintenance knowledge


• Basic computer skills


• English language skills ( written and spoken )


• Communication skills
