Aramco energizes the world economy.
Aramco occupies a unique position in the global energy industry. We are the
world's largest producer of hydrocarbons (oil and gas), with the lowest
upstream carbon intensity of any major producer.
With our significant investment in technology and infrastructure, we strive to
maximize the value of the energy we produce for the world along with a
commitment to enhance Aramco's value to society.
Headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and with offices around the
world, we combine market discipline with a generations' spanning view of the
future, born of our nine decades experience as responsible stewards of the
Kingdom's vast hydrocarbon resources. This responsibility has driven us to
deliver significant societal and economic benefits to not just the Kingdom,
but also to a vast number of communities, economies, and countries that rely
on the vital and reliable energy that we supply.
We are one of the most profitable companies in the world, as well as amongst
the top five global companies by market capitalization.
We are seeking an Unconventional Reservoir Geologist, with expertise in
characterizing and advancing unconventional appraisal programs to full field
development projects, for the Eastern Unconventional Characterization Division
(EUCD) within the Emerging Unconventional Assets Department (EUAD).
EUCD is responsible for evaluation and de-risking of shale gas and liquid play
concepts within the Kingdom, through initiating and executing integrated
subsurface projects to support planning and execution of field development
plans to meet production targets. In addition, the division supports drilling
teams and production engineering for stimulation and hydraulic fracturing
operations.
Your primary role will be to integrate/generate appropriate subsurface data
from regional to field-scale to perform geological evaluations, create fit-
for-purpose geological models, in-place assessment for resources, flowback
assessment, and participate to integrated reservoir studies.
As the successful candidate you will be required to perform the following:
Use/maintain geological models to conduct and document reservoir
characterization work-flows via generating cross sections from well logs,
maps, cores, cross plots, histograms, summary tables, and written reports for
different stratigraphic intervals to recommend placement of wells and
supplementary processes to enhance production.
Evaluate current practices and identify opportunities for innovative
improvements using data science applications to predict reservoir quality.
Actively participate in the well planning process to optimize well locations
using a variety of geological and geophysical data.
Monitor and track wells, performing well evaluations during and post frac
jobs, generating and/or updating maps for structural, stratigraphic, fluid
limits in light of new drilling and flowback information.
Provide geological input into generation of appraisal and development plans
for resource assessment and development optimization.
Work closely with drilling, production and reservoir engineering teams and
champion operational activities from planning to execution.
Effectively communicate through presentations to technical peers and
management teams to enhance in-house knowledge.
Provide support, recommendations and advise in the area of expertise.
Mentor and develop newly hired and young professionals.
You must hold a Bachelor degree in Geology or a related science, however an
advanced degree is preferred.
You must have 10 years or more of experience and active technical roles, with
at least 5 years in shale unconventional plays, we will consider candidates
with more or less experience, depending on the quality of their experience.
Experience in building, maintaining and evaluating large and complex
geological models utilizing geological modeling software is required.
You should also have working knowledge in the integration of sedimentology,
depositional environments, petrophysics, geophysics, geochemistry,
geomechanics and well placement.
As well as experience working with the production and drilling teams on well
performance and optimization.
Previous experience working with reservoir engineers and reserve auditors to
determine reserve and resource estimations is preferred.
Working environment
Our high-performing employees are drawn by the challenging and rewarding
professional, technical and industrial opportunities we offer, and are
remunerated accordingly.
