Aldenham Prep Riyadh is part of the Aldenham Education Group and is integrated
very closely with Aldenham School in the UK, which was founded in ‎1597. It
will open to its first students in September ‎2022 and this is an outstanding
opportunity for Primary Class Teachers to join a talented and dedicated team,
led by the experienced UK Head of the sister school in the UK, Vicky Gocher,
who has come to Riyadh as Founding Head. Aldenham Prep aims to provide the
best possible all-round education and excellent pastoral care for every child
and is expected to open up to year ‎5 in the first academic year ‎2022-‎23.
Suitably qualified and experienced candidates may have the chance subsequently
to undertake a leadership or management role, and grow with the group as it
expands its network of schools.
Class Teachers have a responsibility for delivering the majority of the
curriculum to their class, but will work closely with colleagues ensuring a
collaborative approach to teaching and learning across the Year Group. The
children therefore receive the same opportunities, and all teachers feel
supported by a strong team.
Arabic, Islamic, Music and PE will be taught by specialist teachers to enhance
the curriculum. Each class receives support from a dedicated Teaching
Assistant.

Teaching and Learning:
You will be expected to:
* deliver our broad and balanced curriculum
* deliver well-planned, engaging and creative lessons, ensuring that the needs of all children are met
* facilitate and encourage high quality learning which provides children with the opportunity to achieve their full potential
* use technology to enhance teaching and support learning
* differentiate appropriately, using approaches that enable every student to access all areas of the curriculum and make excellent progress
* demonstrate excellent subject knowledge relevant to the age group
* set students challenging developmental goals and draw upon varied strategies, resources and technologies in order to support students in achieving these goals
* make effective use of Teaching Support Assistants to support children in class
* follow the Aldenham procedures for assessing, recording and reporting on children's achievements and to use this information effectively to influence future learning and convey progress in report writing
* provide students with regular written and oral feedback and encourage them to reflect and respond to their feedback
* participate fully in co-curricular and activity programmes
Other Responsibilities:
* follow and implement School Policies and procedures in and out of the classroom
* provide a safe, purposeful and well-managed learning environment
* value the home-school-community partnership, working closely with other members of staff to establish and manage good relationships with parents and key stakeholders
Professional Standards:
* attend assemblies, departmental meetings, parents' evenings, school functions and other staff meetings
* recognise the importance of being an exemplary role model to all children within the School
* maintain high standards of professional behaviour in accordance with the school ethos, including timekeeping and personal presentation
* take personal responsibility for evaluating and reflecting upon your teaching in order to continually develop and improve your practice
* always maintain professional and productive relationships with colleagues
* always promote the school in a positive manner
* fulfil any reasonable additional responsibilities as requested by the Head
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
* comply with all safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring that any safeguarding concerns are reported in line with the School policy
* demonstrate a personal commitment to safeguarding and children's well-being
Person Specification:
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
* relevant Bachelor's Degree, ideally gained at a UK University
* UK Postgraduate Certificate of Education or Qualified Teacher Status
* minimum of two years' relevant teaching experience
* excellent working knowledge of the National Curriculum of England
* a strong academic background, stature and experience that will command the respect of pupils, parents, colleagues and the wider community
* a commitment to academic progress and the welfare and safeguarding of students
* knowledge and understanding of recent educational developments and best practice
Desirable skills and experience:
* an understanding of the demands of a UK independent school environment
* experience working with children who have English as an Additional Language
* a secure knowledge of using technology to support education
Personal Qualities:
* passionate about all round education and can inspire children to have a lifelong love of learning
* understanding of the needs, challenges and opportunities in the context of an international community
* positive team player
* light-spirited, has a growth mindset and the ability to laugh with others
* energy and charisma to create a positive learning environment in line with the School's vision

* enthusiastic, hard worker who is willing to go the extra mile to ensure that the curriculum is accessible to all and to challenge their students
* willing to listen to others and collaborate, sharing best practice to ensure excellent outcomes for all children
