Director of Facilities and Operational Safety
The Director of Facilities and Operational Safety will lead a dynamic team of
professionals ensuring compliance of the FSHRI related to health and safety,
risk management, business continuity management, food safety & hygiene and
sustainability: establishing and implementing policies and procedures in
accordance with local legislation and Four Seasons guidelines.
FUNCTIONS :
General Verification Aspects
* Guiding & supporting all colleagues in the Security with Security Manager and being responsible for the safety of all hotel guests, colleagues, contractors and visitors of Four Seasons Riyadh.
* Developing, conducting and/or organizing the both induction & refresher trainings, in terms of health and safety (including LWC), food safety, sustainability, risk management& BCM requirements based on international and local standards for hotel operation
* Developing& providing documentation ( guidelines, P&P, SOP, record templates) for all hotel operations for the mentioned systems above
* Defining the KPIs for concerned systems with senior management and monitoring the commitment performance for all concerned positions with senior management
* Verifying the operation if complying with standards mentioned above via periodic defined internal audits, writing reports and preparing trend analyses also raising the risky areas to the concerned department head where action required
* Preparing and leading the property for the local authorities' and company's annual audits as main contact for all mentioned systems
* Reviewing and following-up on all incident, loss, and accident reports in accordance with FLHSSE Policies and ensuring all documentation following incidents is completed and followed up by Security Manager. Engaging in incident investigations and compile and submit statistical reports and updates with Security Manager,
* Developing& setting up the BCM P&Ps, ERPs and BRPs with all related departments and training the team with announced and unannounced drills
* Carrying out& reviewing the risk assessments in the work environment for whole property and support Department Heads in completing their corrective actions in regards to risk assessment
* Chairing and facilitating monthly H&S Committee meetings and monthly HACCP meetings and ensuring the action plans are followed through by all Department Heads
* Leading the IPM with the pest control company and supporting departments as needed
* Leading the ESG Team by guiding and recommending ESG activities and actions during the monthly ESG meetings chaired and support to manage HEP data for corporate EHS audits with the related division heads. Suggest resources and solutions to execute EHS issues' improvements
* Leading the PCI Committee in terms of Four Season's PCI compliance guidelines, conducting internal audits for operational departments and chairing the monthly PCI Meetings. Also leading the hotel for annual and submitting the quarterly documentation with IT department to corporate
* Leading the hotel senior management regarding the Ministry of Tourism ‎6 (star) certification program, and conducting internal preparations with related divisions
* Participating the corporate discussions to evolve the health and safety culture throughout the group and being part of the review process of corporate documentation
* Coordinating and arranging all operational details pertaining to security and safety in connection with VIP visits or big events where required
* Cross checking and assessing the overtimes and vacation balances on monthly basis in terms of fatigue and work accidents risks
* Submitting Hotel & Residences Monthly Corporate Reports regarding H&S
* Following up the local legislation on regular basis from ministries' website to ensure the hotel's compliance and if there is any update, this is communicated with the senior management for required actions,
* Leading and growing the Facilities department team members, preparing onboarding trainings as well as the continuous development plans
* Preparing the budget for Facilities department and reviewing the H&S budget and preparing for other operational departments
* Managing the contracts for the Facilities department like food sampling laboratory, external training companies etc. and managing& ensuring their tasks are conducted as required in the hotel and evaluating their annual performance
Maintenance Monitoring Aspects
* The ability to assist in monitoring and coordinating and supervising the prompt preventative maintenance of all production equipment. This is especially important for those equipment requiring regular calibration either for heating, freezing and cooling. These require consistent and routine documentations which would be mandatory for HACCP compliance and continued certification.
* The ability to verify the compliance of engineering in all premises, production area maintenance and pest control documentation.
* The ability to complete and provide performance evaluations for all kitchen employees in regards to food safety
Verification and Monitoring of Purchasing, Receiving and Storage System
Aspects

* The ability to critique and advise all methods of purchasing, receiving and storage in regards to the the full and complete operational compliance thereof to approved HACCP and ISO22000 Guidelines and standards
* Verify the compliance of Purchasing department in the close adherence to established protocols for safe certified suppliers and temperature controlled receiving and storage efforts.
Monitoring of Facility Cleanliness and Sanitation Program s
* The ability to ensure that sanitation standards as set forth in the validated HACCP plan are in compliance as well as the cleanliness and neatness of the production facility form receiving of product to serving cycle
* The ability to monitor and verify that the maintenance and cleanliness of all food preparation equipment is compliant and completely documented as necessary
Sustainability Aspects
* Implement changes and communicate them effectively: Aside from creating strategies to make your workplace greener, sustainability managers are also responsible for communicating and marketing sustainability campaigns to internal and external stakeholders. You will be working closely with Engineering, HR, PR, your colleagues, vendors, to educate and inform them on the changes you're looking to implement and how they will impact the environment and workplace
* Measure you're the properties sustainability performance: It is crucial to keep track of what you are doing to make your company more sustainable. For example, tracking energy and water consumption. Simply measuring and keeping track of your KPIs will be important aspect of the role
* Analyze and audit: You need to analyze the waste, audit it, come up with solutions, weigh up the pros and cons of your decision, and then implement it
* You will be expected to assess any inefficiencies in your organization. You will need to identify the issues quickly and find the most economical ways to fix them. This takes an analytical mind - someone who can pinpoint problems and research smart and effective ways to deal with them
* You are also expected to be creative in the way you think, as the ideas you have for creating a greener organization need to be innovative. If you can be both analytical and creative with your ideas - critically tailoring your cutting-edge ideas to suit the organization you're working for - then this could be the career for you
* This job requires you to be organized and enjoy multi-tasking. As a sustainability manager you are responsible for coordinating a variety of projects, ideas and strategies with people. Therefore, organization, planning and communication skills are essential.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
* Reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
* ‎5-‎6 years' experience in Food Safety and /or HACCP administrator covering all aspects of control.
* Must possess a high level of responsibility, and high-quality standards, and be totally unbiased in regards to monitoring and verification protocols
* Very strong leader, communicator and trainer. Very observant in regards to assessing system and process deficiencies and strengths as well movements and behaviors of food handlers in regards to correct handling
* Must be able to report to Administration and General Executives in a clear can concise unbiased manner the system glitches and any remedial actions to be taken especially those that would necessarily include Ownership involvement.
* While this career path is open to anyone with the right experience, skills and passion for sustainability - a bachelor's degree in business, environmental sciences, environmental management, engineering or sustainability
* Experience in sustainability or environmental science is a must. Candidates with experience in business management must express a proven interest in sustainability or environmental science
