Promotes the optimal use of antimicrobial agents to reduce the transmission of
infections. Oversees interventions and educational strategies for clinical
staff and patients.
1. Supports all the section 's activities and assists the Manager,
Antimicrobial Stewardship in maintaining high standards of quality and
efficiency by the approved policies and procedures.
2. Develops and implements the Hospital's antibiotic stewardship program
based on local, national, and international recognized guidelines to monitor
and improve the use of antibiotics.
3. Communicates and collaborates with medical staff, nursing, microbiology,
and pharmacy leadership, as well as the Hospital's infection prevention and
control and quality assessment and performance improvement programs, on
antibiotic use issues.
4. Provides competency-based training and education to medical and clinical
staff on the practical applications of antibiotic stewardship guidelines,
policies, and procedures, as applicable.
5. Performs clinical responsibilities within related specialty of Pharmacy as
assigned.
6. Monitors of antimicrobial use data and microbiological data.
7. Participates in formulating and monitoring hospital-based guidelines, care
sets, power plans, and protocols related to antimicrobials. as required.
8. Participates in and/or initiates research projects to improve
antimicrobial use and outcomes.
9. Follows all Hospital's related Policies and Procedures.
10. Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as
applicable.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Master 's Degree, or Pharm.D./Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy with accredited
residency program (PGY2 or equivalent), is required.
Six (6) years of related experience with Master 's Degree, Pharm.D/Bachelor's
Degree with the accredited residency program, or eight (8) years with
Pharm.D./ Bachelor's Degree is required.
