ROLE SUMMARY
Build Strategic partnership with Government bodies through public-private
initiative to support equally AZ Priorities ad well as Healthcare
transformation in Saudi Arabia as part of Vision ‎2030. Employs expertise to
develop policies, programs and other initiatives that will support
strengthening AstraZeneca reputation externally as partner of choice.
What you 'll do
* Supports or leads multiple Government Affairs projects to maximise the effectiveness of interactions with Governments bodies and government officials.
* Lead POLARIS implementation with Government bodies in KSA by working cross functionally internally and deliver on ‎4 strategic priorities work stream (R&D, Localisation, Innovation & Sustainability)
* R& D Collaboration - Work closely with Medical & R&D functions to carry out more complex research project focusing on mid-long term priorities in alignment with AZ areas of expertise
* Lead the development of our Innovation hub in KSA to provide Health tech solution supporting KSA aspiration to become a Life Science and Innovation Hub
* Develop our Sustainability agenda and become the pharma partner of choice supporting Saudi Greeen Initiative
* Prepares briefs and other documents aimed at influencing government and regulatory developments and channels these through a network of public sector contacts.
* Collaborates with other colleagues within Government Relations functions to share best practices, key contacts, intellectual capital, and emerging issues.
* Responsible for budgetary accountabilities.
* Develops responses to new legislative initiatives and emerging issues that could impact AstraZeneca.
* Ensures the brand strategies, market strategies and other functional strategies incorporate developments in the legislative and regulatory environment.
* Acts as an expert resource for brand leaders and other managers, helping them understand the impact of legislative and regulatory changes on their areas of focus.
* Builds networks with other colleagues within Government Relations functions to share best practices, key contacts, intellectual capital, and emerging issues.
Essential for the role
* Bachelor 's degree in Government Relations, Communications, or related field
* Experience in Government Relations
* Experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare industry
* Comprehensive understanding of the impact of public policy and political influences on coverage, payment, and regulatory decisions
* Comprehensive understanding of the commercial pharmaceutical marketplace
* Proven Project Management skills
Desirable for the role
* Experience managing other employees and leading project teams
* MPH, MBA, or equivalent
* Knowledge and experience of managed markets
