The opportunity
You will be responsible for leading and managing a project, or part thereof,
under the supervision of your line manager.
You will fully understand and comply with the project execution plan and
ensure that all relevant parties you lead and supervise also understand these
project targets in your day-to-day management of the project.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Reviewing the current and potential supply chains, with your knowledge of the local supply chain market status.
* Running and managing the procurement process through development of the procurement strategies with work stream leads, assisting and compiling initial long and short lists of local vendors / suppliers and being the focal point for all matters relating to the acquisition of services for the project.
* With your understanding of procurement concepts, standards and best practices as applied in the engineering and construction industry, you will be delivering processes and building relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, clients and the extended project team.
* Providing preliminary risk assessment related to the procurement activities assumed by the proposed prime contract and providing the necessary written, graphic, and pricing/cost information in support of the proposal process.
* Maintaining the performance metrics to measure the performance of the programme with regard to cost savings, on time performance and quality of goods and services, while assisting in the resolution of purchase order and disputes as necessary.
* You will be in a central role, participating in the development of programme and project execution plans, where your local procurement expertise is required.

You have a relevant degree qualification and previous experience in the
procurement strategy and management of the project. You will have a background
