Job Summary:
Raytheon Arabian Systems Company (RASC) is seeking a translator capable of
interpreting/translating documents using in-depth knowledge of English and
Arabic with word continuity and grammatical construction, which convey exact
meaning of the original language, either written or spoken. Research technical
data concerning subjects being interpret or translate. Make written notes and
prepare reports pertinent to the work performed. Establish and maintain files
of language reference materials.
Responsibilities to Anticipate:
* Translates text by understanding the thoughts expressed; incorporating cultural influences; consulting dictionaries, thesauri, and references; conferring with colleagues; explaining the thought in target language.
* Interprets spoken statements from English to Arabic and vice versa.
* Maintains records of materials translated.
* Prepares for translation by studying text to be translated, researching subject matter.
* Evaluates interpretation/translation by reviewing clarity and grammar, adjusting in meaning as necessary.
* Prepares translation by dictating or keying translated text.
* Verifies translation by proofreading translated text.
Qualifications You Must Have:
* Bachelor's Degree, preferably in English literature, Linguistics, international studies, humanities, international business, or political science.
* Minimum two years' experience as an Arabic/English Translator.
* Skilled in the use of MS office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other business software application products.
* Proficient in reading, writing, and typing both Arabic and English languages.
* Familiarity with business, financial, technical, legal, scientific, educational terminology etc.
Qualifications We Value:
* Translator/interpreter certification from an accredited institution
* Sound and sufficient background in military and technical translation.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively with coworkers from diverse communities and cultures.
* Demonstrated ability to work with colleagues who represent a diversity of work and conflict resolution styles.
This position requires a Saudi national who is eligible to obtain any
required Export Authorization.
