Project: This is an opportunity to work on one of the largest programmes in
Saudi Arabia. This unique project consists of major mixed-use development
including sports facilities, entertainment, and arts along with all associated
infrastructure.
Mace is one of the delivery partners requiring high-calibre and experienced
professionals to lead integrated teams throughout each phase of the project.
The infrastructure package consists of a civils (structures), utilities,
roads, and public realm elements. These works are undertaken con currently
across the project starting with the civils package.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Acting as project team leader controlling all aspects of the work including planning, administration, commercial, engineering, site works, documentation, testing and commissioning and finally handover.
* Reviewing of consultant and contractor designs and make recommendations. Controlling the value-engineering design, contractor and material design and selection.
* Understanding the Saudi Arabia building codes and MEP standards, codes of practice and regulations.
* Providing input into all aspects of the procurement process including preparation of briefs and bid documentation, prequalification of consultants/contractors, and the bid/appointment process.
* Providing input into the development of the MEP schedule and reviewing contractor submissions.
* Managing technical coordination meetings with consultants, contractors, and utility providers.
* Managing and reviewing of pre-construction documentation provided by the contractor/s including shop drawings, material/ equipment submittals and samples, quality plans, and method statements.
* Reviewing of construction progress including programme and quality control/auditing. Working with the planning team to develop detailed and accurate programmes of work.
* Reviewing all testing and commissioning activities and liaison with the independent commissioning authority.
* Developing the project MEP close-out strategy and review of documentation such as record drawings and O&M manuals provided by the contractor.
* Supporting the commercial team in the valuation of works, change control, or claims.
* Assisting in the production of project reports.
* Reporting to the project director and MEP director.
About you
You have a degree in construction related field and member of a construction-
related professional body. You have post graduate experience in a similar
position. You have a background in either mechanical or electrical
engineering.
You are digitally savvy and can build lasting client relationships and provide
support to strong, motivated teams. You will have experience delivering
projects from start through to completion within a consultancy industry and be
poised to expand your own horizons, those of our clients and of our ambitious
people alike. You have previous working experience on construction projects
and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to
