Primary purpose of the position:

With a strong, solid background in purchasing and supply chain activities, the
role is responsible in superiority of suppliers materials and components
covering price delivery and quality targets.

Key responsibilities include:

Check on daily basis the purchase requisitions from SAP that were prepared by
stores /End users
* Reviews the purchase requisitions details, if it is not adequate then returns back to PR originator.
* Float RFQ if the PR descriptions are adequate, for the local & foreign purchase requisitions related
to spare parts
* Float the Scope of work to the contractors for the job related requisitions.
* Obtains three or more quotes.
* Evaluate the quotes if its multiple suppliers, prepare price comparison for procurement superintendent review
* If the purchase requisitions are single source , obtains quote to make sure the lead time and price
* Negotiates the price, payment term & lead-time with suppliers.
* Make sure converting the purchase requisitions into purchase orders within the established KPI target.
* prepares the purchase order and follow the approvals
* Ensure parts and materials are delivered on time for production by coordinating with logistics and suppliers
* Establish strategic relationships with suppliers
* To provide pending purchase orders data and follow up the delivery with suppliers
* Report the performance of vendors to procurement superintendent for preparing the vendor performance.
* Coordinates with between finance & suppliers and resolve any discrepancy pertains to invoicing.
* prepare marine insurance list and forward to proc superintendent for review.
* Assign Courier for pick up the ready shipments less than ‎100 KG.
* Material Costs - stringent material control is required to assure company targets been met.
* To manage the efficient and pro-active expediting of purchase orders to ensure that production does not
suffer from material shortages
* If the new supplier identified whom beneficial to company in terms of price and quality , then recommends the procurement supdt to establish the new vendor code by providing all the relevant documents and approvals.

Knowledge and experience required:
*
Bachelor Degree in business or engineering
* Studied modern manufacturing techniques advantageous
* Minimum ‎5 years previous experience in a Purchasing role
* High competency level in use of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, as a minimum) & SAP
* Good understanding of modern lean manufacture technique - SMED, Kaizen 5S, Kanban, Structured Problem Solving, TPM/OEE, SPC, ‎6 Sigma etc.
* "Hand on" approach to all tasks
* Fluent English
