Objective of Position
The head pf logistics center is responsible on running a Logistic Center in
Egypt, ensuring optimal availability and on-time delivery of spare parts
within country in line with a continuous changing environment, being cost
effective and in line with agreed target commitments GSP/OG.
Main tasks
Managing the Operations and Supply-Chain Management
Holding full responsibility of the Logistics Center as a location manager in
terms of operations, budget, processes, security, health & Safety, etc.
Ensure efficient operational and supply-chain logistic processes in order to
provide the optimal stock-level and service level to the dealers in Egypt.
Permanent tracking and tracing of backorders ensuring its level is keeping
within the target.
Permanent optimization of the stock performing evaluations and taking actions
(e.g. scrapping, space optimization, special sales, ...) Control business
processes within the department, in particular order processing, external and
internal correspondence, accounting and internal audits
Define transportation needs and strategy together with RLCME and negotiate
transportation conditions with service providers, control transportation
performance and costs.
Advise Head of RLCME in all aspects of the Logistics spare parts business.
Human Resources Planning and Leadership
Be a role for all the MB Egypt Logistic team employees.
Lead, motivate and develop employees by target agreements.
Ensure sufficient capacity, knowledge, training, equipment and performance-
challenging atmosphere.
Ensure clear and target-oriented internal communication.
Develop measures to provided qualified employees in co-ordination with the
RLCME and MB Egypt HR.
Identify the leadership and developing needs of the MB Egypt Logistic Team.
Cost and Budget Planning
Planning, monitoring and controlling of turnover, lines and cost in
cooperation with the RLCME and FMS.
Discussing and negotiating budget and cost figures, annual operative planning
and OP controlling with the RLCME Management.
Develop and implement successful efficiency-increasing measures assuring the
distributor customer benefit (service level) at adequate cost and ensuring
that Logistics Performance KPIs are fulfill.
Management and Control of 3PL Operations and Cost Control
Ensure efficient Warehouse operations through 3PL defining and achieving KPIs
operational targets and monitoring them in a regular basis and collaborating
in the management and implementation of the Warehouse processes
Defining continuous improvement measures in close cooperation with 3PL
Warehouse manager.
Definition and negotiation of the performance targets with 3PL.
Control and follow-up of the 3PL costs in a monthly basis.
Monitoring and controlling all the contractual issues in cooperation with
RLCME and GSP/OLW.
Continuous improvement of the Parts Logistics Department
Development and improvement of the RLC organization in co-operation with GSP
and RLCME.
Establish a continuous improvement philosophy implementing best practice and
benchmark processes from other ELC/RLCs in order to achieve efficiency targets
and reacting to the market requirements.
Working using tools like the Daimler High Performance Culture.
Assortment and Procurement Policy
Monitoring the procurement of all needed Logistics goods and/or services
following the company regulations for the quotations and assuring a
competitive selection of the supplier/service provider according to DAG
guideline and in coordination with the RLCME.
Ensure the GSP/GLC inventory processes including permanent and random sample
counting.
Representational and Co-operation with GSP/OG
Representing GSP Logistics in Egypt and secure a positive image.
Collaborate in strategic alignment and further development of parts logistics
and ensure realization according to GSP Guidelines.
Collaborate in business policy of the parts business and promote interests of
the Logistics Center within GSP and MB Egypt.
Responsible of the whole operations of the warehouse in Cairo including
ordering, stock keeping, inventory management, initial stocking, inbound,
outbound, health/Safety, environmental, and security
Training and qualification:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Commerce/Finance or any
equivalent field from a reputable university
Relevant post graduate study is preferable
Technical knowledge:
Practical experience in spare parts on the whole sale and retail level
Previous exposure to international business
Detailed knowledge of MB Spare Parts system
Experience in departmental and personnel management
