Job Purpose
The main objective of the role of the Product Cost Senior Analyst is to:
Maintain effective control over the various classifications of inventory accounts.
Generate a monthly accurate cost of sales report.
He will review & submit the new standard cost. Ensure accuracy of month-end closing journal entries. Along with applying annual physical count whether at supplier or in plant.
Key Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for this position are broken down as follows: Local
(applicable to the MEO only), Regional (applicable to GMIO) and Global
(applicable across GM-defined regions)
Local (percentage of allocated time)
* Perform cost run for parts/products on monthly basis, after reviewing new standard rates against previous one.
* Update OH, Labor, Landed Cost rates after collecting full data required.
* Perform a month-end closing journal entries according to monthly schedule by meeting due dates.
* Prepare monthly aging report for all inventory items, which may lead to forming provision for slow moving items and obsolete items.
* Analyzing goods in-transit, customs, freight, and other landed cost accounts, posting actual vs. standard variance, and accrual on monthly basis.
* Monthly analysis for inventory adjustment with direct COGS effect.
* Review and control inventory purchase requisitions for parts not under-agreements.
* Review and post cycle count according to change in BOM or API reflection.
* Accountable for communications with auditors, and annually financial review.
* Conduct physical inventory counts at GM Egypt plant and investigate cycle counts results.
* Other tasks as deemed appropriate to accomplish the job requirements

Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Competencies
Knowledge and Experience:
* From 2 to 5 years of experience at Finance, preferable to have 2 years in a Product Cost Analysis position.
Education:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
* CMA holder is preferred.
Skills:
* SAP Knowledge in Product Cost is preferred.
* Excellent in Microsoft Excel.
* High analytical Skills is required.
* Good communication skills.
* Speaks and writes English language fluently.
