An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Operations Planner to join our
existing Planning Department working for our busy Signalling team.
Key duties will include:
* Creating Safe System of Work Packs (SWP) for various projects
* Acting as Responsible Manager (RM) for various projects
* Supporting the Operations Planning Team on the day to day running of all track access
* Preparation of worksites in PPS ensuring mileage limits, isolation, protection, machinery are correct and concise to conform with scheduled daily/weekly activities.
* Assisting with producing possession/track access programmes within Network Rail timescale
* Submissions/Business Case Submissions/CRF/DAF/Isolation planning etc
* Understanding the Programme requirements. Use of negotiation skills with NR & 3rd Party Contractors to achieve best possible results
* Ensure your ability to be available to liaise with Planning team, Construction, other Contractors and Network Rail
The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail and be self-
motivated with a pro-active approach with experience of working under pressure
and meeting tight deadlines with a minimum level of supervision. Problem
solving, communication and good interpersonal skills are required for this
role.
The candidate will also ideally have the following Experience/skill set:
* Some knowledge of Network Rail GZAM and PPS systems including On-Trac and basic planning techniques.
* Hold or working towards ES/COSS , Crane/Machine Controller, POS Rep, Lift planner competencies
* Hold or working toward Responsible Manager (RM)
* A positive and enthusiastic approach to challenges and problems.
* The ability to manage work to meet varying deadlines.
* Experience of working in a project construction site environment.
* A competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
