The Child Protection Officer:
Reports to: Program Manager
Main responsibilities :
· Leads and carries out assessment to identify appropriate CP activities for
children and their community, in consultation with relevant partners and
authorities.
· Leads on developing detailed activity planning, in collaboration with the
line manager and according to program priorities, budget concerns, staff
capacity and needs.
• Ensures a proper follow-up of cases is done, through access to CP
activities, like individual counseling of emotionally distressed children and
focus group discussions, and/or through referral. ·
· Ensures the project is reaching its objectives timely and according to
standards..
· Ensures implementation of the activities in line with Child Protection
Minimum Standards, relevant national/international standards code of conduct,
and Humanitarian and CP Principles.
· Takes into account gender, protection, age and environmental cross cutting
issues in program design, implementation, and reporting
· Is responsible for the implementation of the action plan and budget
monitoring.
· Identifies capacity building needs in the team and contribute to capacity
building. ·
· Uses program resources effectively and with care.
· Facilitates local resources mobilization and does maximum use of them.
· Is responsible for his/her own continuing training to develop his/her
skills.
· Ensures adequate data collection and data storage of all activities and
prepares timely monthly activity reports.
· Promotes a stimulating working environment, participation of staff,
participation of community and children.
· Provides professional guidance for team members
· Maintains liaison with the local government officials, other I/NGO’s and
community based organization’s at the community level to ensure their
cooperation and coordination for effective implementation of the programme in
the areas and effective use of resources in coordination with the PM.
· Attends and takes proactive part in key meetings including clusters,
governmental coordination meetings, internal meetings, bilateral meetings in
order to ensure coordination and information sharing.‎1. Good command of English and Kurdish are required.
‎2. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (social work, psychology, , social
sciences, etc.).
‎3. Superior organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and to take
initiative with positive attitude.
‎4. At least two years of humanitarian experience is required. Previous NGO
experience, and especially case management experience, is a distinct
advantage.
‎5. The ability to communicate effectively with children and adults, local
authorities and other partners, and express oneself in a clear and concise
way.
‎6. Good knowledge of MS Office Package.
‎7. Ability to work in unstable, uncertain environments, independently and in
a team.
