Deadline Date 2022-06-01Background:
Ta’afi is a United States Agency for International Development Office of
Transition Initiatives (USAID/OTI) program implemented by Chemonics
International in Iraq. IRP2-Ta’afi aims to increase stability in Iraq by
improving conditions that allow for durable returns in areas liberated from
ISIS while mitigating discrete emergent challenges that threaten overall
stability. Ta’afi is recruiting for Procurement Intern.
Reporting and Work Location:
S/he will report to the Procurement Manager in the operations department. This
position is based in Erbil, Iraq.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Maintains clear and concise procurement files that document project compliance with USAID rules and regulations, and Chemonics policies and procedures.
2. Assists the Procurement Manager during the procurement process
3. Maintain and update procurement tracking sheets and suppliers’ databases.
4. Liaises closely with requesting departments concerning procurement activities.
5. Conducts market research as required.
6. Processes vouchers and payment requests.
7. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.Qualifications:
1. Completed Bachelor’s degree - Fresh graduate
2. Strong organizational and administrative skills
3. Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to maintain a rapid and demanding pace of work.
4. Ability to work in a professional and cordial manner with fellow staff members, visitors, and partner institutions, including international and local NGOs, governmental entities, support organizations, and the general public.
5. Working proficiency in basic office computer applications including MS Word and Excel
6. Fluency in written and oral Kurdish and English is required; written and oral fluency in other local languages including Arabic is a plus .

Additional Information
* Contract period: 3 Months
* daily stipend: Interns are not entitled to a monthly salary or any form of payment but a daily stipend to cover their expenses to do the work. The stipend is divided as below and is paid only for workdays:
* Transportation allowance: $15 per day
* Food allowance: $15 per day
