Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Utilities Inspector to join
our team! In this role you will get to inspect various facets of utility works
such as foul sewer, water, sewage, telephone, electrical works in roads and
highways projects on the construction site and performs continuous
surveillance of assigned construction activities to ensure compliance with all
applicable codes, standards, and specifications.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Conduction inspection on demolition of transportation facilities (roads, streets, bridges etc.)
* Conduct inspection on construction of roads, bridges, and other associated improvements (curb and gutter, street, sidewalk, landscaping)
* Inspect drainage work, traffic control, compliance with SWPPP requirements
* Survey the installation of electrical equipment related to traffic signals, ramp metering and street lighting
* Scrutinize the Irrigation and planting, roadway and overhead sign removal and installation.
* Check the installation on temporary and permanent signs and delineation
* Inspect the Installation of mechanical equipment
* Check the building and facility construction and associated site development
* Taking project photographs on a daily basis and filing them
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
* Degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 7 years relevant experience in utilities such as foul sewer, water, sewage, telephone, electrical works in roads and highways projects.
* Must be able to read and interpret plans and specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction-related processes related to the area of assignment.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
* Knowledge of English grammar and composition, the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing; to follow oral and written instructions, prepare written messages and simple charts and graphs.
* Capability to perform math calculation in order to prepare engineering calculations, graphs and charts.
* Proficiency with basic computer usage, Microsoft Office, Project Management Software and internet search engines (like Google or equivalent).
* Ability to comply with multitude of requirements as applicable to the project based on client and industry standards.
* Must have thorough understanding of scheduling, and the ability to review progress pay estimates and extra work bills.
* Must be able to recognize hazardous work conditions and take action if necessary.
* Must be available in UAE.
