Job Description:
OVERVIEW/BASIC FUNCTION:
To provide a comprehensive one-on-one educational fitness program for members
to assist them in achieving their fitness goals, offering assistance to
guest's using fitness facility, providing group exercise classes. To be the
link between the guest and the spa; to oversee the guest needs during his stay
and provides personal service in assisting the spa needs of the guest. To be
responsible for gathering preferences and information so the guest recognition
is ensured for his next spa visit; to be responsible for maintaining high
standards of the hotel when fulfilling his/her duties; to keep a critical eye
on spa cleanliness and have a thorough knowledge on the functioning of spa
features, equipment and therapies.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* To provide a courteous, professional, efficient and flexible service at all times.
* To have a full working knowledge and ability to perform all duties and tasks listed in his/her job description. Please note that Job description can be reviewed and changed on a regular basis reflecting change in trends, guest expectations and operating philosophies.
* To maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures and standards.
* To ensure that standards are maintained at a superior level on a daily basis.
* To respond to guest inquiries on Spa & Resort, Spa Menu, Fitness Programs and other information regarding the facility and services of the Spa.
* To provide Personal training for mental and body toning in guiding guests towards a healthier lifestyle.
* To provide in-depth information of equipment usage, lifestyle management; provide group exercise classes as per agreed timetable and design a customized personal fitness program.
* To attend all in-service trainings and meetings.
* To communicate guest/client program progress and/or problems with the Spa Manager.
* To inspect the fitness, pool and cafeteria area at the start, during and at the end of shift to ensure that the set-up of the department is in accordance with established standard.
* To monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
* To check and replenish amenities of the spa area at the start, end and if necessary during her/his shift.
* To perform opening and closing procedures according to the shift.
* To check the condition of spa facility and equipments and reports any damage immediately to the supervisor.
* To execute the standard of the Spa in the set-up of amenities and decor. To distribute to the different areas their linen, towel and amenities needed in their perspective services.
* To escort arriving guests to requested area (Fitness, Pool or Changing Area)
* Additional duties at the Fitness Area: Assists guests in the Fitness Area with Fitness related issues
* To anticipates guests' needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day. To maintain positive guest relations at all times.
* To respect the privacy of the guest at all times
* To attend briefings, as required.
* To maintain good relationships with colleagues and contributes to team spirit. Cooperates and coordinates with colleagues whenever necessary.
* To interact with other departments to provide additional or specialized guest services.
* To establish a rapport with guests, providing guest recognition and good customer relationships.
* To help update with supervisor the guest history in the system accordingly to information collected.
* To help monitoring the stock inventory and to follow up on pending issues with support of logging system.
* Personal trainer is responsible for tracking guest/client paperwork
* To understand and strictly adhere to the Rules & Regulations established in the Employees Handbook and the Hotel's policy on Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
* To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag at all times.
* To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times. Adhere to grooming standards.
* To maintain high standards of the hotel when fulfilling his/her duties.
* To maintain calm, courteous and gracious attitude at all time.
* To maintain a good rapport and working relationship with staff in all other departments.
* To be very familiar with the Room division/Spa policies and procedures.
* To attend and contribute to all staff meetings, Departmental and Hotel training as scheduled and other related activities.
* To undertake any reasonable tasks and secondary duties as assigned by the Spa supervisor.
* To project at all times a positive and motivated attitude and exercise self control.
* To maintain good relationships with colleagues and contributes to team spirit. To cooperate and coordinate with colleagues whenever necessary.
* To interact with other departments to provide additional or specialized guest services.
* To maintain personal training certification through continuing education.
* To carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities as assigned.
OSHAD RESPONSIBILITIES:
While at work, (and while on work premises) an associate shall:
* Take reasonable care of their own health and safety.
* Take reasonable care of the health and safety of a person and the workplace, that may be affected by their acts or omission at work;
* Cooperate with full compliance with Hotel's developed OSHMS policies, OSHMS procedures & operational works instruction in order to protect the health and safety of the people.
* Report to immediate supervisor any situation which they have reason to believe could present a hazards and which they cannot themselves correct;
* Report all OSH incidents and work related injuries; and
* Not intentionally or recklessly interfere with or misuse anything provided (e.g. Equipment & machineries, PPE, etc.) at the Hotel's workplace in the interest of health, safety, welfare or protection or management of the workplace.
* Participate in conduct of OSH related planning and implementation in order to achieve the Hotel's OSH objectives, targets & program.
* Attend all training arranged by Hygiene, Health & Safety Manager such as OSH training, safety Induction, on the job training, tool box talks, etc.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
* Held accountable and committed whatever it takes to comply with the company's OSHMS Policies, OSHMS Procedure, & Operational Works Instruction and any other relevant legislation applies within the organization.
* Held accountable to take care of his own health and safety, other person in the workplace that may be affected by their acts or omission at work.
* To report to his supervisor or respective Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience as a Fitness Trainer at a 5 star hotel.
* Education: High school diploma / Personal Trainer diploma
* General Skills: Must be able to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; prioritize, organize and follow-up; be a clear thinker, remaining calm and resolving problems using good judgment; follow directions thoroughly; understand a guest's service needs; work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team; work with minimal supervision; maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent hotel data.
* Technical Skills: Thorough knowledge of all fitness equipment and how to operate them, capability to create a personal training program according to guests need, capability to teach different fitness classes, various time a day, if requested, excellent oral communication skills, ability to anticipate guests needs.
* Language: Required to speak, read and write English, with fluency in other languages preferred.
* Physical Requirements: Must be able to exert physical effort in, endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, reach up and down, remain stationary at times throughout work periods, and satisfactorily communicate with guests and co-workers to their understanding.
* Licenses & Certifications: Personal Trainer License.
