Laundry Presser

Position: Laundry Presser (Full time #‎536655)
Property / Office: Emirates Palace, Abu Dhabi
Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Main Responsibilities:
* Understand and execute all policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs.
* To understand and strictly adhere to the hotel's policy on fire, hygiene, Health, and safety and to handle all equipment, linen, and uniforms with care.
* To always maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene.
* To maintain a good rapport and working relationship with colleagues of all other departments. Always provide a courteous and professional service.
* Answers telephone calls from guests requiring cleaning or pressing services. Logs the request and informs valet to pick up the clothing that needs service.
* Ensure quality controls are in place for all guest, Guests, Management, uniform articles, and linen processes, rejecting any exceptions.
* Always ensure a clean and tidy work area and report to the Supervisor/ Laundry Manager if any items have been damaged or hazard spotting.
* Responsible for Sorting, drying, pressing, and folding garments and other linen items.
* Inspect guest clothing for damage and stains and takes necessary action.
* Check for quality of washing any stains found on article should be removed from items using the appropriate procedures.
* Report to Supervisor/ Laundry Manager in case any guest clothing needs any minor mending/tailoring.
* Maintains daily production of linen, guests, management, and uniforms are properly recorded.
* Maintain and follow linen logbook for repair and mending of uniforms.
* Quality checks any linen which is torn is placed separately and returned to the seamstress for repair.
* Ensures fresh linen are sorted and placed to the designated areas allocated for different departments on the trolley/table.
* Assist Supervisor in the inventory /stock check.
* Attends all departmental training and multiskilled training in all section.
* Attends departmental daily briefing and Meeting.
* Performs any other job as assigned by Supervisor/Laundry Manager
* Flexible, understanding and supporting the operational requirement by following duty Rota, overtime to suit the needs of the laundry department.
* Ensure all equipment, machine and tagging machine are kept neat and in good condition and informing Supervisor on any trouble shooting.
* Informs any guest, senior managements, or colleague's feedback/ complaints/comments to the Supervisor/ Laundry Manager
Requirements:
* Minimum of ‎1 year experience in a similar role with preferable previous experiences in a five star hotel.
* Basic High School Diploma or vocational training in hospitality
* English communication, time management skills
* Good personality and positive attitude, energetic, friendly, flexible, motivated, and able to work independently.
* Knowledge of operating of laundry machine and equipment's basic tailoring skill
* Ability to stand for long periods. Basic knowledge of chemicals uses and handling.
