Swimming Instructor (2023-2024) - Al Yasmina Academy

JOB DESCRIPTION

Aldar Education are currently seeking an outstanding Swimming Instructor for
Al Yasmina Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing next academic year ‎2023-‎2024.

RESPONSIBILITIES
To be an exemplar swimming instructor, delivering the school swimming
provision across all year groups.
To ensure standards of Health and Safety are met at all times by all facility
users.
To Provide positive role models for students, modelling all desirable
behaviour.
To ensure the safety of the children in and around the poolside in line with
the NOP.
To ensure all pupils and staff around the pool are aware and are well
rehearsed in the EOP procedure.
To Support the PE department in any wider responsibilities that are required
as determined by the Director of Sport.
To promote swimming and healthy lifestyles including through the organisation
and participation of galas, competitions and health promotion events etc.
Deliver the swimming provision across both primary and secondary age groups
Direct any additional supervising adults as per the NOP.
To provide a safe, positive and caring environment for all students.
Ensuring the children are supervised at all times.
Planning and delivering engaging lessons as part of a wider scheme of work.
Organising and participating in galas and other sports related activities
after school and on occasional weekends.
Liaising class teachers and classroom assistants over the care and supervision
of children- prior to, during and after lessons
Running extra-curricular provision
To attend all parent evenings and communicate effectively with parents
regarding student attainment and progress.
To participate in the schools internal assessment policies including data
input and writing reports.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:
UAE approved Swimming Coach Certificate at level ‎2 or equivalent
First Aid Certificate and CPR knowledge

Minimum Experience:
Have the ability to cater for the needs of all students across the age and
ability range.
Be suitably experienced in teaching swimming to be able to effectively deliver
the swimming provision at Al Yasmina Academy

Dedicated to driving the PE and swimming departments forward
Committed to support the wider swimming provision including before and after
school as well as occasional weekends.
Passionate about the care and wellbeing of young peopleHave the teaching /
coaching knowledge to understand how to adapt his/her delivery to allow all
students to progress.
Be able to have effective communication skills to allow all students to be
able to access the teaching content.
Deep understanding of all the strokes and how to develop these in all swimmers
in the academy from beginner to advanced.
Understanding of any potential barriers students face in swimming and have a
range of teaching approaches / styles to overcome these.
