Role Summary:
The business compliance manager will be responsible in cooperation with
Country HCCOs for developing a comprehensive approach to manage the risk of
cooperation with Third Party Intermediaries ( TPIs ) in the Middle East and
Africa, with emphasis on markets with increased TPI risks.
The business compliance manager will serve as a subject matter expert for the
business sposors and business leadership teams in addressing everything
related to the Due Diligence process of TPIs, audit findings or SI
recommendations related to TPI management also implementing and executing
efficient and risk-driven monitoring plans on TPIs in cooperation with Country
HCCOs
Ensure MedTech business practices and activities in relation to TPIs are in
compliance with related J&J internal guidelines, local laws and regulations
and anti-corruption laws including the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
This position reports to J&J Middle East Strategy and Operation Director with
a dotted line to Middle East and MISSA Health Care Compliance Officers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Partner with business leadership teams and business sponsors to ensure that due diligence for MedTech Middle East and MISSA region is conducted as per HCC program to effectively prevent and/or detect violations of law, regulations, policies, or the Code of Conduct.
- Provide and coordinate appropriate guidance and communication to business on Due Diligence and HCC-related updates/activities as needed.
- Ensure all TPI Due Diligence for ME and MISSA is completed and valid as per EMEA Business Practice guidelines
- Provide business sponsors with regular reports on due diligence renewal and mid-term certification timelines to ensure it is completed as per relevant due date to ensure business continuity.
- Conduct Due Diligence training for ME & MISSA business sponsors.
- Maintain Due Diligence training records for ME & MISSA business sponsors
- Maintain valid TPI Inventory for ME and MISSA
- Participate in Compliance Committee meetings as required
- Support the business and compliance team during audits/monitoring activities related to DD compliance matters
- Participate & Support in projects as assigned by the Middle East and MISSA HCCOs
- Coordinate and work closely with the EMEA Third Party Ethics and Compliance ( TPEC ) team
- Support the audit team and be the main point of contact with TPIs in case of any TPI audit
- Support the distributor management team, and he business sponsors in implementing any MAP related to TPIs
- Support the end to end life cycle management of TPIs in Middle East and Africa
- In cooperation with the HCCOs support the monitoring of TPI compensation in Middle East and Africa
Qualifications
Experience required:
- Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree is preferred
- Minimum 8 years of total experience
- minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and/or medical device industries with appropriate business experience.
- Experience leading in a multi-national environment preferred.
- Prior experience in project management preferred.
- Experience in Health Care Compliance preferred.
- Understands and masters the J&J Credo based culture.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, and industry standards for Middle East is a plus.
- Requires strong communication, organisational and analytical skills
- Broad business experience and a proven ability to influence business decisions and business partners
- Ability to take complex business situations and develop solutions to ensure compliant growth is achieved
- Requires strong communication, organisational and analytical skills
- Ability to work well between functions and across all levels of the business and effective negotiating skills are essential.
- Proven track record in delivering results, self starter and ability to manage complexity a must.
- Background may include Compliance, Finance, Audit, Sales and Marketing, Medical Affairs, Legal, or Regulatory
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Deals well with ambiguity and demonstrates strong organizational, process and
interpersonal skills. Ability to work well between functions and across all
levels of the business and effective negotiating skills are essential. Ability
to comprehend and interpret legal documents would be an advantage. Proven
success at people management and talent development.
