Duties



  • Implement and administer Regional Cyber center (RCC) personnel security, information security, sensitive compartment information, TEMPEST, foreign disclosure, industrial security and physical security programs.

  • Serves as the Special Security Officer (SSO) for the RCC Sensitive Compartment Information Facility (SCIF).

  • Interprets and provides technical advice and guidance to subordinate units and staff to meet the physical security standards for the construction and protection of SCIFs IAW policies and regulations.

  • Ensures the proper classification, declassification, and safeguarding of classified defense information and documents generated, processed, and/or stored by the headquarters.

  • Coordinates with contracting officer representatives to develop security standards necessary to implement DoD and Army standards for safeguarding information within contracted facilities.

  • Conducts or participates in command physical security inspections and assessments in addition to inspection of activities with critical communications facilities.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

  • In accordance with Change ‎3 to AR ‎600-‎85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a Tier ‎5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).

  • Duty outside of normal duty hours may be required.

  • Temporary duty (TDY) travel may be required ‎25% or less of the time.

  • Must obtain and maintain the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within the first two years of employment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described
below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer
work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps)
and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious;
spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all
qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must
clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education,
your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Additional

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one
year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized
experience is defined as experience which includes, but is not limited to,
conducting security program inspections, analysis, surveys and assessments;
reviewing, analyzing and resolving personnel security problems associated with
managing background investigations and clearances; evaluating and assessing
overall security risks to facilities and classified information; and providing
training and guidance to the workforce on security related matters and
initiatives. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work
performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service
(GG/GS-‎11).


You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the
following areas:
* Information Security
* Personnel Security
* Physical Security
* Security Program Management


Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related
security work directly related to the position being filled. Creditable
experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the
private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at
least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.


This is a Career Program (CP) ‎35 - Intelligence position.

  • Male applicants born after December ‎31, ‎1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration.

  • This is an unaccompanied assignment.

  • The initial length of this overseas tour is ‎12 months, but it may be extended up to ‎4 additional years.

  • Housing will be provided for you upon arrival in country.

  • Temporary storage of household goods costs will be paid for ‎1-year assignments. Storage of POV is not authorized.

  • Must be able to satisfactorily complete a medical examination for deployment to CENTCOM area in accordance with MOD-‎17. Selection for the assignment will also require annual physical examinations.

  • Salary includes applicable Target Local Market Supplement of ‎32.49%, subject to change.
