Duties



  • Serve as Counterintelligence (CI) Special Agent for Area Support Group Kuwait, Directorate of Intelligence and Operations.

  • Represent the command and meetings to discuss Counterintelligence (CI) operations or problems.

  • Conduct Counterintelligence (CI) investigations into threats to include sabotage, espionage, treason, sedition and terrorism directed against the United States Army.

  • Conduct Counterintelligence (CI) investigations into threats or instances against national security.

  • Perform intelligence collection assessments as part of the threat vulnerability process relating to the foreign intelligence entity (FIE) threat and recommends countermeasures.

  • Develop innovative methods and procedures to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Conduct operational coordination with local counterintelligence organizations to include participating in intelligence and security conferences, to exchange information and resolve problems.

  • Advise the commander of Counterintelligence (CI) issues recommending appropriate countermeasures.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).

  • Temporary Duty (TDY) Travel may be required ‎25% or less of the time.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.

  • In accordance with Change ‎3 to AR ‎600-‎85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.

  • This position is considered Emergency-Essential (E-E) in support of the Army?s mobilization and wartime mission during periods of increased tension and mobilization and could be assigned to any location worldwide.

  • The incumbent must sign DD Form ‎2365, stating as a condition of employment, the conditions described above and the requirement to maintain certain levels of medical, including the anthrax vaccination; security; performance; conduct;

  • and overall fitness that make them suitable for assignment to an austere and stressful combat environment is understood.

  • A family care plan is required for single parents or families where both parents are emergency essential, including situations where one parent is in the military.

  • Failure to perform the duties of this position in an emergency may result in appropriate action - defined as separation for the efficiency of the Federal service under the procedures contained in ‎5 CFR ‎752.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid driver?s license.

  • Heavy physical demands/lifting, must be able to lift ‎40 Lbs.

  • Must pass appropriate physical examination for overseas duty

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described
below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer

and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious;
spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all
qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must
clearly describe your relevant experience.


To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one
year of specialized experience at the next lower grade (GS/GG-‎11) or its
equivalent that demonstrates the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities
to perform successfully the duties of this position.


Specialized Experience is defined as performing a wide range of
intelligence concepts, principles and practices as they relate to
Counterintelligence (CI); and threat analysis in support of CI operations.


Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence-
related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience
should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence
collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly
related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate:
Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of
and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs,
statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and
methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence
data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and
analyzing intelligence data.


You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the
following areas:

* Technical Competence


This is a Career Program (CP) ‎35 - Intelligence position.
