Location: DTV
The Technology team based at the Saudi Arabia Technology Centre (SATC) in the
Dhahran Techno Valley (DTV) campus is part of Air Products' Global Technology
organization. The SATC Technology team leads and supports both regional and
global technology initiatives. We have expertise in hydrogen production
processes, such as gasification and steam-methane reforming, in adsorption and
membrane separation technologies, in materials engineering, and in
computational technology.
We are looking for a Laboratory Technician to support the operation of our
laboratory-scale and pilot-scale equipment. The successful candidate will have
the opportunity to be part of a technical team that is talented, energetic,
collaborative, and supportive.
Principal Responsibilities
* Ensure reliable and efficient operation of the Materials and Separations laboratories, including:
* Failure testing of materials
* Characterization of adsorbents and catalysts
* Testing of membranes in the pilot-testing unit
* Comply with HSE and Air Products standards of safety, housekeeping and maintenance of lab facilities and test equipment
* Use standard software tools to collect and analyze data, write reports, and present recommendations to technical and business stakeholders
* Manage, monitor and plan for preventive and operational maintenance of laboratory and pilot plant equipment
* Assist with shipping and receiving of samples and lab consumables
Required Skills and Experience
* The following skills and experiences are required:
* A technical degree in science or related field
* Fluency in written and spoken English for successful interaction with global colleagues
* Ability to collaborate successfully with colleagues with diverse backgrounds
* Beneficial experiences include:
* Work in a laboratory environment or a plant setting
* Maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting and repair of equipment
* Familiarity with quality control practices
* Materials science and failure analysis
* Adsorbent characterization
* Work with materials in cryogenic or in high-temperature services.
* Knowledge of carbon and nonferrous alloys, corrosion and welding fundamentals.
