We are looking for a highly experienced, commercially minded General
Counsel who will have oversight and responsibility for legal matters
relating to DPDHL JV based in Al Khobar.

Objective:
Act as the trusted "Strategic Business Partner" and "Advisor" to the
organization in all relevant Legal issues. Support the CEO, Directors,
compliance team, and the wider KSA JV team, ensuring they provide the best
Legal & Compliance advice, solutions, and challenges to enable strategic
initiatives which encourage growth and protect and enhance company assets.
Support ensuring the KSA team effectively extends Global Legal & Compliance to
ensure a consistent and high standard of all Global Legal & Compliance
standards and principles.

The General Counsel or the Head of Legal has to be able to identify and remedy
complex legal issues without inviting the services of external legal advice.
The General Counsel must also have excellent skills in legal negotiation, such
as mergers and acquisitions, joint venture matters, tender bidding, and
contract acquisitions. They must also be able to draft and manage complex
trademark, and regulatory documentation, handling such issues comfortably
within a fast-paced business environment.

General Responsibilities:
* Providing full-time legal support to the DHL Supply Chain JV entity in Saudi Arabia and the region, advising executive, senior management, board, and all internal customers on various matters such as legal rights and new and existing laws and legal risks that could impact the functionality of the business.
* Supporting the CEO and Board of Directors in-country in general counseling, including general advisory to senior management, contract drafting and negotiation, regulatory matters, litigation, employment issues, and other general in-housework.
* Drafting and reviewing customer contracts, supplier contracts, construction contracts, employment contracts, IT contracts, and other legal documents, with a particular eye on relevant policies and procedures and the Company's requirements, priorities, and interests.
* Assisting in providing risk analysis concerning legal and commercial matters and guidance and training to enable growth and protect income and promote the company's business while minimizing risk.
* Assists with corporate governance matters, including preparing and maintaining business entity documents, company formation, and preparing resolutions and consents.
* Participating in and leading projects and practice groups, creating and rolling out standard contracts to develop efficiencies, promote standardization, and ensure departmental visibility within the Company.
* Maintaining awareness of relevant laws and changes in the direction that may impact Company interests, with a particular focus on the logistics and procurement industry and jurisdictions involved to report such laws proactively and changes to it to the management of the Company.
* Being able to spot any possible compliance issues and ensuring preventive measures are taken to protect the company's legal and commercial interests and generally supporting the Compliance function.
* Representing the company in related trade organizations and before government bodies, supporting senior management. Steering in trade organizations to help company strategies in line with legislation and seek appropriate business compliance support. Leading and supporting new legislation preparations; benchmarking good global examples.
* Producing regular and ad-hoc reports and performing other administrative tasks as required by the newly formed legal department.
* Perform any other duties out of the routine but within the scope of work
Qualification :
* Juris Doctor (JD) (US System), LLM (Master of Law), or the equivalent from one or more internationally recognized and qualified to practice law in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
* ‎10+ years diversified, post-qualification in providing legal counsel to clients in a company, law firm, government, or private consultancy environment as an attorney qualified in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
* Registered and licensed to practice law by the authority of the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Justice.

Knowledge & Skills:
* Bilingual in Arabic and English (written and verbal) effectively and clearly in a multicultural environment.
* Highly developed organizational ability, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
* Able to work under pressure and remain focused.
* Demonstrated legal competence and the ability to exercise independent judgment and self-direction in the matters for which they have been assigned responsibility.
* Understands and promotes connections between other practice/industry groups and departments
* Experience in logistics, transport, procurement, and related sectors preferred.
* Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced team environment.
* Proficiency knowledge of Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office programs.
* Self-motivated with a high sense of professional ethics and integrity.
* Professional attitude with a strong sense of discretion to keep sensitive information secure and private.
