Job description
Role Purpose:
Provide regional or local direction of Database Administration activities to
meet the goal of improved platform and service availability in accordance with
Service Level Agreements.
Lead and governance the DP domain across MENAT region.
Responsible for leading in building and running the DP domain that enable the
functioning of Technology teams, Products and Services across the region.
Responsible for ensuring that the RTB responsibilities are adhered to for the
infrastructure hosted in Middle East.
Responsible to provide guidance to CTB resources on CTB implementations.
Guiding and managing the CTB resources in accordance to Implementation of
Change the Bank Activities related to DP database such as new implementations,
upgrades and modifications to the DP database, that are compliant with IT and
ISR Standards for Middle East Business
Responsible for the design, deployment, installation, configuration and
delivery of any DP database related product. Also coordinates with other
functions (Network engineers, application teams, cyber security teams, etc.)
to implement administration programs and business application programs, and
creates long-range strategic planning in areas that involve upgrades, end-user
management and systems programming.
Principal Accountabilities:
* Provide regional or local direction of Database Administration activities to meet the goal of improved platform and service availability in accordance with Service Level Agreements;
* To ensure correct process and procedure is followed always and quality maintained to provide the best service possible to both internal and external customers.
* Demonstrates and improves process by continuously reviewing for efficiency and introducing change to enhance procedure
* Identifies solutions to problems and mitigates risk based on sound judgement
* Resolve problems and incidents of varying complexity to enable the operation to continue to run and deliver service effectively by eradicating recurrences with the minimum disruption to the business;
* Ensure the products supports new applications and systems used by the regional business to meet the agreed expectations. Ensure the SQL Requirements list fulfilled to achieve smooth project handover.
* Ensuring on time delivery of planned projects in hand.

* Improve the efficiency of the IT infrastructure by aligning various projects to meet the strategic objectives for Global initiatives, by aligning with other strategic initiatives while being effective and efficient.
* Implement effective DB environments that ensure availability, resilience, cost effectiveness and security for all countries across MENAT.
* Meeting the business expectations for all programs and projects.
* Tangible cost savings for business.
* Improve the customer experience, quality of service as well as reduce operating expenses through automation, standardization and exceptional service delivery.
Customers / Stakeholders:
* Undertake the co-ordination of projects instigated by or with other IT teams. This incorporates the approval of plans ensuring they are unambiguous, understood, and have commitment
* To establish plans, schedules and business cases for approved projects. Assign project tasks to team members and provide effective management to ensure delivery of these projects
Leadership & Teamwork:

Operational Effectiveness & Control
* Implement relevant compliance, monitoring, reporting, documentation, and training.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant internal instructions (FIMs, GSMs, circulars) and external regulatory requirements, including the management of operational risk and adherence to the Group's standards of ethical behavior.
* Stay abreast of technology trends and advise IT and the business about potential benefits/impacts.
* Ensuring that all planned projects are delivered on time and within the budget.
* Manage database recoveries vs Expenses + / - ‎5 %
Major Challenges:
* Participate in building/maintaining contingency environments within the region.
* Building/Maintaining MENAT DP environments remotely in line with group standards.
* Test new Versions and Releases, exploring new ways of service automation in the current environments.
* Standardize the support service polices and processes to align with the group directions and goals.
* Enforce process governance in various support services.
* Align our services with the Group best practices and contribute to lead workgroups.
Requirements
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications:
* University BA in IS, Communication Engineering, or equivalent.
* Practical experience in implementing and managing IT operations related projects.
* Good technical design and implementation skills with a proven track record of delivering large and complex projects.
* An understanding of the business environment and imperatives particularly the provision of excellent customer service.
* Sound communication skills to build and maintain effective working relationships with peer groups in Operations, Development, the user community and product suppliers.
* A high level of technical expertise along with the ability to react rapidly and effectively to change. This knowledge will be specific to MSSQL and Oracle database administration, Hardware management of different types of servers.
* Strong analytical skills to enable complex problems to be understood and resolved.
* In depth understanding of service management techniques, including change management, incident management, Data Centre Operations and configuration management.
* A broad understanding of the underlying business supported by the technical environment.
* Excellent knowledge of the project lifecycle and IT service design and service delivery with capability of managing projects and design/delivering services.
* Broad experience of dealing with commercial issues to enable effective communications with suppliers.
* Thorough understanding of the additional challenges when architecting and building systems for multi-country deployment.
* Effectively coordinate delivery of services involving elements delivered by other internal/external teams.
