The Board of Governors of the British International School of Cairo is seeking
to appoint a dynamic new Head of Senior School with exceptional qualities of
leadership, a passion for education and the vision to help lead and further
develop the whole school as the academic international school of choice in
Cairo.
Reporting to the Principal, the Head of Senior will ensure that BISC continues
to offer an outstanding British-style education, focused on independent
learning and the promotion of global citizenship, and inspiring all members of
this vibrant international school community to be curious and resilient
learners, respecting diversity and keenly motivated to effect positive changes
in society. Candidates with a background in teaching and leadership in the
UK's independent sector will be particularly welcome.
Outstanding candidates will possess the following qualities:
* Solid personal experience of GCSEs and senior leadership within an academically selective, high-achieving IB Diploma programme school and with enthusiastic commitment to the IB Diploma 's aims and values
* Proven and successful experience in school leadership, either as an inspirational deputy or as an experienced head possessing the flair and energy to take on a second post and prepared to embrace and implement innovative new ideas when appropriate
* The ability to be a collegiate and collaborative team-player capable of decisive management when necessary and with the cultural sensitivity and diplomatic skills to gain the trust of parents, local education authorities, a flourishing international community of pupils and teachers, senior colleagues and the Board of Governors
* Confidence as a communicator, both in speaking and writing, inspiring pupils, teachers and parents and relishing involvement and leadership in marketing and public relations activities
