Job Description



  • Assess the patient's physical, communication and cognitive skills to develop a treatment plan.

  • Assess the home, school and work environments of the patient.

  • Provide specialist OT assessments and clinical interventions for patients with complex disorders.

  • Plan, implement, and monitor activities that allow patients to access and benefit from their specialized instruction. The focus of these services includes, but is not limited to: fine and gross motor functioning, positioning, daily living skills, play/leisure skills, work skills, and sensory-motor activities.

  • Develop treatment plans that are strength based as well as patient and family centered.

  • Collect ongoing daily data and adapt treatment accordingly based on trends in patient's performance.

  • Guide teachers, primary care providers and all other educational team members in the implementation of facilitating classroom strategies to

  • Ensure skill generalization and in how to identify students who may require a referral for a speech and language evaluation.

  • Help and guide children and adult patients to take part in everyday activities based on their unique circumstances.

  • Assist patients' exercise for pain relief.

  • Observe, note, and report on progress of long and short-term treatment goals.

  • Review the patient's progress and adopt the treatment accordingly.

  • Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of OT

  • Familiarity with ADLs evaluation tools (e.g. Katz ADL scale, Lawton IADL scale)

  • Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
