Job Description

The Rig Superintendent assists in managing a rig as a profit and
performance independent unit while delivering value drilling services to
customers. The Superintendent understands the multi-disciplinary aspect of
conducting business and is familiar with technical support, procurement,
finance, personnel, marketing, and QHSE management. The position reports to
the Operations Manager.

Successful Rig Superintendents learn and adapt quickly to problems and new
situations. They pursue everything with energy, drive and a need to finish,
and use logic to solve problems with effective solutions. They are good
listeners and can communicate effectively with managers, peers and clients.
They work well independently and within a team and are committed to continuous
improvement.

Roles And Responsibilities
* Responsible for the quality of service performed by the rig(s), and that the rig is operated in accordance with contractual obligations and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
* To ensure the operator's program is accomplished in a safe and efficient manner, and the rig operations are operated in accordance with company's policies and procedures.
* Leads by visible example, minimizing delegation of authority when handling key items.
* Personally drives, follows up and closes the loop on all QHSE critical activities.
* Is familiar with QHSE management systems and ensures the rig complies with all standards.
* Ensures the safe operation of the rig and is a link between the company and those on board.
* Reviews all drilling, work over, and completion programs, and analyses operating statistics.
* Follows up on well operations and assists in the prompt resolution of problems.
* Sets operating targets (KPI), leads incentive operations, monitors results and improves performance.
* Maintains total integrity of asset management.
* Ensures rig equipment is well maintained
* Is familiar with rig contract terms and conditions, understands subcontractors contracts and related liabilities.
* Is familiar with specific financial policies, prepares budgets, and sets accruals.
* Presents a detailed maintenance plan at the beginning of each year.
* Acts as a front line personnel manager and is involved in the personnel replacement process.
* Sets crews' yearly objectives, follows up progress via quarterly reviews, and ensures all performance evaluations are conducted in proper manner.
* Ensures proper implementation of training requirements for the crew and sub-contractors and is accountable for keeping all applicable personnel certified.
* To provide leadership and motivation to all subordinates
* To maintain a financial budget in accordance with the forecasted activity and proposed revisions as required.
* To control inventories in accordance with planned levels.

Skills

• Must have an Engineering Degree/Diploma. Preferred Engineering Graduate


• Minimum Fifteen years' experience of rig operations, both onshore and offshore, with minimum two year of experience in the present position.


• Must be Fluent in English


• Kuwaiti or GCC nationals preferred, current Kuwait Resident may apply.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, technical writing skills are preferred


• Proficient computer skills in industry standard software.
